| Third Costco -- we took back a TV after about a month, no questions asked, no restocking fees (which is hard to find!) |
| Bed, Bath, and Beyond. They're friendly and helpful and greet you but don't annoy you. And they'll take back anything for return, and make sure you're happy with the transactions. Plus they'll take as many 20% off coupons as you have per transaction! |
I agree. Their sales are incredible, and their uniform prices are so much cheaper than those sold at the local campus stores. Plus, the uniforms are also top quality - lined and all! And everything arrives in a timely fashion. |

This post rocks! (I have nothing to contribute....)
BUMP! |
| Trader Joe's! |
| I second Bed Bath and Beyond. Besides the surplus of 20% off coupons that they'll take AFTER they expire, they're return policy is great. We registered there for our wedding and my husband accidentally returned a gift that someone hadn't even bought there, and they took it back! |

This one is going to be a bit controversial, because I know some people haven't had as much luck, but Direct TV was really good in terms of moving. When we moved locally, you would not BELIEVE the trouble we had switching services to our new address. With Direct TV, it was literally 1 phone call. No interruption in service, no delays, it was almost like magic.
Can't say the same for Verizon, where the customer service reps could not wrap their tiny brains around the concept of someone moving! "What? You don't want service anymore? What, you want it at a different address? We don't understand." |
| Patagonia- gave me a brand new fleece when my zipper broke. (and it was more than a year old). |
| The company that makes BOB strollers. We bought a used one on CraigsList that was missing a few screws and the pin that holds the hand brake in place. I called and they sent the replacement parts for free. No questions asked! |
| Lands End. I had a shipping problem where it was totally my word against theirs, and I was bracing for an argument, and they cheerfully gave me the benefit of the doubt and I had my new (replacement) stuff in a couple of days. I was so pleased. |
| Also, this is a small place and not a mega-retailer like most of the above, but Danco (http://www.danco.info/) in Silver Spring does TV and VCR repairs, and they've been great. He looked at the DVD player my daughter had mauled, determined he could fix it in 2 minutes, and did so on the spot, no charge. I'd totally thought it was some big problem that would have cost a lot or taken some time -- he was so honest. |

Yes, Costco! We bought one of those expensive memory foam mattresses when my parents were visiting so we could use their van to get it home. The mattresses come in a box, and when you cut it open, the mattress springs out and slowly decompresses. It's supposed to take about two days to achieve it's ultimate shape but ours never did-- The creases remained where it had been folded into the box, and one side was slightly fatter than the other. Nonetheless, we slept on it for a year because it wouldn't fit in our car to return, and we wanted to wait and rent a van when we had other large things to move.
Costco took it back, no questions. |

Nordstrom's
Costco-we love them!! LL Bean |
| Chevy Chase Supermarket! Hands down. They are so nice and helpful and go way above any other grocery store. |
| Another vote for Costco and Nordstrom |
