As to the second, that's what FCPS staff tried to tell her, but she wasn't having it.

Elaine Tholen is herself a threat to our children - along with the rest of the radicals on the current FFX school board.

After she had been logged in, she realized she had failed to pick up the Democrat sample ballot. She had picked up the GOP one by mistake. She wanted to go out and get the Dem sample before she voted. She was told that she could not do that--she was already logged in. (Pretty stupid woman--didn't realize she could just vote "opposite" of the GOP ballot, I guess.) So, what did she do? She went through a trash can to find one. She was successful.

The problem is that the ones that run are to the far right or the far left. However, this current batch is almost off the charts left. Without Schultz, there is no push back at all--except a little from McLaughlin. I don't agree with her on everything, but we definitely need more of her. I had high hopes for Pekarsky, but she has definitely consumed the KoolAid. And, her assistant is an activist.

This is a pretty good summary. The problem is that even with a new election, the next school board will suck too. We live in an area where only Democrats can get elected. And it’s hard to get people to run because everyone is so crazy these days.

Maybe I'm missing something, but it looks like groups such as the FCPA will recruit candidates for every seat to challenge these idiots and hypocrites. And the endorsements should come from these groups first, not the local GOP.

He is 100% correct. Schools cannot have different lesson plans for every kid in a class just because you don't like this or that. And it seems you don't like a lot. You do need some anger management, btw.

If "radical" (is that what GQP tells you to call it?) means inclusion and letting parents decide what their kids can read, I'm all for it. I'm NOT all for other parents dictating my choices - aren't you the "but MY rights" party???

And the fact is, plenty of parents were accepting of how the SB handled COVID. It wasn't perfect but they did the best they thought they were doing. It's fine if you didn't. But you don't speak for everyone.

Lastly, some of us can walk and chew gum at the same time. Multi-tasking is a thing. That's why they could do those other things. You may not like all of them. I may not like all of them. But, they were perfectly within their right to work on other issues in addition to COVID issues. Maybe you also need an executive functioning coach to work on your multi-tasking so you can see how it works???

Not the poster to whom you're responding, but the idea that this school board knows how to multi-task is absurd on its face. The fact that they let a change to TJ admissions become their top priority for months during the pandemic in 2020 illustrated just how out of touch they are with what actually matters to the vast majority of parents and students.

Im a Democrat but Im a parent first. I will not vote for any of these clowns. Elaine least of all. Why?

Because they took a very difficult situation (pandemic) and made things so much worse. Remember, they planned to take a Monday off (16 March 2020 I think) so teachers could learn how to deliver content virtually? Yes, one whole day Then the Governor had to step in and make the decision for FCPS by shutting everyone down. Then we had zoom bombings - why? Because FCPS had not updated their software in a few years. Then we had the Board institute a meaningless boundary change - great timing - make kids feel even less stable. Then we had the "make your choice: virtual or in person" in the summer of 2020. Tough decision but we all made a choice, then FCPS said "oh that, wait, never mind!" Then we had the board focus on renaming schools and dumbing down TJ. Then, masks on, no off, no on. Never mind the several last minute emails FCPS sent out canceling the next phase of in-person learning. In the middle of this, the board re-upped Stupid-intendent Brabrand for another year, only recently telling him to get lost. Maybe it was his multiple appearances on CNN telling everyone that FCPS was doing great. Maybe it was because after over a year of no in-person learning, he still cashed his $323,000 check. Bus drivers? Substitutes? The board did not proactively push to get kids back in school last year - watch the board meetings like I did.

They cant undo any of this, and you cant convince me that this is the best they could have done. We are a $3 billion school system. We should have done better.

So this is not a GOP group. This is a group of parents who are done with Elaine and the entire board.

Maybe I'm missing something, but it looks like groups such as the FCPA will recruit candidates for every seat to challenge these idiots and hypocrites. And the endorsements should come from these groups first, not the local GOP.
