Right. And it wasn't his birthright, at least not yet, so she really didn't understand the structure of the family she married into.

We all wonder if they will take after Mom or Dad. It is not offensive, no one thinks that! No more than wondering whose eye color they will have. I can’t help but wonder if some poor schleb over there made an innocent comment and will now have the racist thing hanging over their head.

That is quite different from "Bro, did you give this a thought? If you marry her your kid might be black!"

There is no evidence that is what was said, bro.

This. Discussing whether the baby’s hair, eyes, skin will look more like mom’s or dad’s is not a verboten subject in most interracial families. My husband and I certainly speculated about it.

What about in all-white families with a history of colonizing and exploiting people of color?

She is taking advantage of Americans ignorance of the BRF.

You truly think all your comments about Meghan are just that, not clouded by decades of being conditioned to view women, particularly Black women, as hysterical, irrational, and playing the victim.
I am saying this with all honesty and well intentions; please, please look into what racial bias is and how you are unaware of it. Once you start realizing what it is and how it manifests, I am hopeful that many here will realize that they truly didn't know they were engaged in it.
Because you were conditioned to think you are just telling it like it is.

But, racial power structures are so ingrained in the culture that you truly believe you are not saying or acting in a racist way, even when you are.
Even BBC is acknowledging that this must be addressed, but not the majority of white dcum.

Eh, no one views, for instance, Oprah as hysterical and irrational. Or Michelle Obama. Or Condoleezza Rice. You know, actual black women who have accomplished something and conducted themselves with dignity.

I choose to believe the experts than you.

It's like talking to deaf and blind people, no? They don't even want to know.

You thought she should know that they would confiscate her passport and drivers license and not let her go to lunch without permission?

I thought she should know that yes you curtsy to the queen and that you give up a lot of personal freedoms, absolutely.

Her claim that she thought it was just going to be like normal in meeting a boyfriend’s grandmother is laughable, also that she never googled anything about the royal family prior to/while dating Harry. It diminishes some of her credibility for the more serious allegations.

When I worked for a company with offices in London, I had to prep the executives if they met ANY member of the royal family as they might do at a charity event. It makes Meghan look stupid that she didn’t do the basics. I learned e wry thing from one slim book on royal protocol.

It's hard to feel sorry for anyone who has this kind of wealth and opportunity in life and still has the audacity and feel the need to have to whine to Oprah. "The family cut off our funds..... and now all we have is this other 13 million that my mom left me. And I have to pay for all of my own security plus a a $15M mortgage. How will we ever survive? And no one ever asks if I'm ok! And I just want protection and to feel safe! And can you believe our baby doesn't get a royal title? The nerve. Get real please.

Well for those on here who live in a $1million does that mean you are not living in reality. The average cost of a house in the US is $200,000, so you heifers live in fantasy land with your 1million dollar plus tear downs. Somehow that does not stop many of you from lamenting about your husbands or children not getting into UVA.

Don't forget that Oprah attended their wedding when they barely knew each other. She has since socialized with Meghan's mother. She was not an impartial interviewer.

And a neighbor.

She comes across as so very self-centered. Poor Harry, cut off from all family and friends. It did not have to be this way. Not sure why they couldn't stick with a graceful exit and not burn these bridges.

And her treatment in the press. This conversation about what baby will be like didn't happen in a vacuum.

I thought the same thing. This is part of why I think MM isn't as black as she'd like to present herself as - because she doesn't seem to have much experience being black.
What if some black or bi-racial Palace staffers had been speculating/asking this question? Would that person have gotten the dagger eye?

There are no black or bi racial palace staffers. Well, Charles had one on staff and she was driven out by racism too.

Seriously! Some of you are ridiculous, acting like this would be normal in the freaking BRF because it’s innocuous in “biracial” families.

And it's not like Meghan is very dark, either.

I still don't get what the "concern" over Archie's color would have been like. I mean he'd come out however he'd come out, nothing to be done about it.

Except that was not was asked. Revision much.
