| Saints beat Bullis 9-8 |
Wow big win for the Saints. I know they might not have a super talented roster, and I’m not sure if they have more than 1 D1 commit, but that coaching staff sure knows how to get a lot out of their players |
| Saints were in the lead most of the game. Goalie had incredible showing. |
Every year they don't beat themselves and are good for at least one upset. Prep #1, then Landon/SSSA/Bullis pandemonium for the #2 seed. |

I have always said the Saints are the best coached team in the IAC.
I learned yesterday the IAC regular season has no bearing on the IAC champion this year. Rather it determines the seedings for the IAC tournament later this month, and the winner of the tournament is the IAC champion. Historically, the IAC has crowned a regular season champion and a tournament champion so its great to see the headmaster getting rid of the paper trophy. Based on results thus far, I think we can agree GP is the favorite to lock up a #1 seed. Where things get entertaining is the battle for the #2 see between: Bullis, Landon and Saint Stephens Things should make a little bit more sense after this week: I fully expect GP to sweep STA in their 2 games this week. The Saints should beat Episcopal twice in their series but keep in mind that is a rivalry contest. The wildcard will be the Bullis vs Landon matchup this week. I wouldn't be shocked if they split the series. |

Well it is very likely Prep will be the #1. It is highly unlikely they will lose to St. Albans and at worst they go 1-1 against the Saints, but a split is a possibility.
Prep is 3-1 vs Landon and Bullis with the Saints to play. Bullis is 2-2 vs Saints and Prep with Landon left to play. Landon is 1-3 vs Saints and Prep with Bullis left. The Saints are 2-2 vs Landon and Bullis. Are there tie breakers for seeding? I will not be surprised if Saints go 1-1 vs Prep. I will not be surprised if Bullis goes 1-1 vs Landon. |
I assume there are tie-breakers for seedings. Landon will has 2 games to play against Bullis and 2 games to play against STA. (there game against EHS was canceled due to COVID) I'm not sure what the deal is with Episcopal, are they even playing in the IAC tournament as I was told they had only agreed to play every team once. |
Landon never played EHS because of covid so seeding could be complicated. If EHS or StA don't win any games against the big four, then I think big four head to head matchups should determine seeding. Prep has head to head over Bullis (goal differential in two games), Landon, and looks good for a #1 seed. If they sweep or have differential over SSSA, they'll have that locked up. Bullis has head to head over SSSA (goal differential over two games), is behind head to head to Prep, with Landon this week. Landon has head to head over SSSA (goal differential over two games) with Bullis this week. SSSA is behind head to head to Landon and Bullis with Prep still to play. A win over Prep will come into effect depending on Landon/Bullis result. I think if Landon and Bullis split, Bullis will hold #2 with the Prep win, then #3 would depend on SSSA vs Prep series. If SSSA steals one, they have less big four losses than Landon even having lost that series by goal differential. Bullis sweeps, Landon #4 seed almost for certain. Landon sweeps, then they would have head to head over Bullis and SSSA and probably have the #2, unless SSSA sweeps Prep. Perhaps the shorter story is that we likely get to see these teams beat on each other a lot more this month on the way to an eventual IAC champion. It may be a shortened season, but it's going to be an exciting one. |
Unlike prior years, this year's IAC regular season is a far greater measurement of each team's relative standing with 2 back-to-back games against each opponent for 9 total regular season games (-ex Episcopal who refused to play off campus) versus the traditional 5 IAC games. Yes, the tourney adds excitement, but in reality it's more of a footnote this year, versus prior years. |

I think its odd playing a team back 2 back in a span of 72 hours.
It adds a different level of element but it is what it us and I'm just grateful there is some type of season this year. I wouldn't mind if the IAC moving forward (spring of 2022) if each team played one another twice in the regular season and then have a IAC playoff at the end of the year. |
Don’t think this would work for the Virginia schools who need to play state games |
