Arlington parents telling me the same. Spirit is not being manages the same as other DAs. The DP label is nonsense as well. That is code for pay us to train...you will never play.

And not a single person has defended the roster size and everyone is in agreement that it should be trimmed. BUT facts are facts and spouting a DA roster size of 28 is not true. Posts have also tried to explain why the GFR affiliation is simply not at the same level as that of Pipeline in MD. That is also a fact. The reasons probably do revolve around the clubs cut for training fees. But that is also a the point that the affiliation with GFR is not the same as the one Spirit has with Pipeline.

But the real issue is that YOU are unhappy. We get it. It is also nothing new. You have been posting the same crap for months and months. You don't need anyone else to validate your feelings. Correct. I was not talking about Larry Best. But I was responding to other posters posting complete nonsense about Spirit to make themselves feel better - including one poster that claimed that WSVA is catching up or caught up to the other DA and ECNL clubs in the area. With the exception of the oldest group, this is laughable too. But as I said, I hope it happens. Lots of things need fixing before that though. Maybe you should take a look at yourself and ask why you have done the things you have done.

Facts: a total of 26 players have rotated on the field for that team. Facts 28+ are in every single practice every single time, impacting all players. No other club in Virginia has their DPs as a constant feature on the team. It's so many players that one 04 had to moved up to create spacecraft and at the detriment of the team above, other field players have played up there, even though they are lost on the field, and best goalies have to be moved up to create space.

It reduces all credibility to suggest this is normal, acceptable, or beneficial. If Larry can get the Spirit VA under control, it may have a chance. But this is the second year of such practices, so if he doesn't, Spirit VA will remain nothing more than a joke.

I didn't tell you to stop commenting. I suggested that you leave the club. Comment all you want, none of it will make a difference because the only choice you have is whether or not you sign your DD up for another year.

I am suggesting that you act like an adult and move on from YOUR mistake. Or stick around and complain like a lover scorned.

This forum exists so people can discuss what they see going on in youth soccer. We are all discussing what we see going on with Spirit VA. What we do with that information will vary.

spirit VA has had bloated rosters with players who tried out at every other DA and eCNL player in town. Its worth discussing if Larry and Richie will change that or not. If they can change it, Spirit VA is worth existing. If it continues, it's not.
