I'm sorry, but they should find the real cheaters and haul them out of their vehicles in handcuffs, right at drop-off. Then ticket their Maryland cars.

I don't believe it's a criminal offense. It is a civil offense for monetary damages.

It is a criminal offense. It's called fraud and theft of services. If these parents want a DC facility, send them to Lorton.

I would love to switch place with the students to be in those nice homes

You can call it what you want, but that doesn't make it so. The two police officers that sent their children to Deal are being sued in civil court, not charged in a criminal court. I'm sure that if the AGs office could have found a criminal statute they would have been charged criminally as well. Stop making up bullshit. It erodes in credibility you might have had

They are nice, and the schools in Lorron are rated higher than DCPS and their charters. But It's too damn far from work. My husband has been trying to get me to leave the city for years. I just cannot take commuting. When I retire, or when I am not tied to a job in the city?

Lorton is the location of the old DC prison. Not sure where they send the convicts now.

The AG's office ordinarily doesn't bring criminal charges. That's left to the US attorney in DC. If the DC AG had made a criminal referral, the US attorney's office would have taken a look at it, although one can imagine how a good defense lawyer could get a couple of jurors to empathize enough with the cops to avoid a conviction.

Why does no one post about the VA tags or the people I follow in from MoCo? Why does the discussion only revolve around PG? Hmmmmm

Stop making all these blanket assumptions about where the MD tags are from. BTW - I know divorced parents in MoCo with 50/50 custody with a parent in DC.

It isn't racist to point out that it is the small handful of schools that are actually worse than DC that have the incentive to game the system. I am sure there are a few poor people in Va and MoCo who view free / reduced child care as attractive options but most of the people outside of PG can afford to send their kids to better which takes the desire to cheat completely away.

The AG prosecutes misdemeanor criminal offenses. The AUSA prosecute felony and federal crimes committed in the city.

Does anyone have MD tags that I can borrow for a couple of hours? I want to use them while I drop off my kids and make some people fume.

First world problems...these are the things DCUM parents lose sleep over.
