Not all the scammers are from PG, but it just seems that way!

My kids used to attend a DCPS school, I drove them in with my MD tags and had play dates galore...sometimes at our house in MD, other times in DC. Not everyone is cheating the system.

Paying tuition is only allowed at any school that does NOT have any wait list of IB or OOB DC residents. So no, not legal at many of the schools mentioned on this thread

Once the kid gets into a school by legitimate means the school when not kick the child out if the family moves into MD or VA. That is, as long as the family pays the tuition.

Very few pay tuition. My kids' DC elementary school had a number of students who arrived every day in Maryland cars. When I checked with the school, there were ZERO tuition paying students. There are legitimate cases of one parent living in MD or something, but the sheer volume points to the fact that there is serious and widespread residency scamming goin' on.

Where would you find the data for tuition paying students?

Different poster here- are you the Pg police? I'm sorry but just geographically it makes sense that most of the scammers will be from PG. You need a rest from this forum. Your name calling is out of control.

Um no and no. Several people have posted concerning Sela families coming from the SS area. There was a SS family at my DC's school (not Sea) but hey those reports on DCUM gets ignored by people such as you. Now run back to your typical PG bashing.

With DC the only jurisdiction in the metro area providing all day free PK3, PK4, and K and childcare expensive, I can imagine it makes sense for people all over the local DMV to use DCPS & C if they can get away with it. I mean, if they are driving into DC anyway for work. Now does it make it right? Absolutely not. But please don't pretend that people in PG are the only ones taking advantage of the loopholes, especially in the early grades.

A map will help you understand that geographically, DC is surrounded by Arlington, Prince George County, and Montgomery County almost equitably.

I don't care about PG or whatever county SS is in, but they're all Maryland to me. And frankly Sela is one school. i don't care where the cheaters come from, but if it's not DC it's theft.

Well all the cars I see lined up at Stuart Hobson, Landon Montessori, Burroughs, Ludlow-Taylor, and Perry St Prep are all from Maryland. So while a map is useful, direct evidence seems more important.

Also you have some serious issues. I'm a new poster and the horrible things you write to people make me think you have a serious personality disorder. I'm not white, and am not rich (hence living in a shitty house in Woodridge), and I do see that there is a problem with Maryland cheaters. I've never seen a VA plate once. And none of my neighbors (Also people of color too) agree with me. Not acknowledging that there is a problem is insane.

And before you get in a frenzy, which is definitely coming I'm sure, people have complained about schools in Ward 3 being full of cheaters too. Whether they come from PGC or MoCo or wherever is totally irrelevant. Cheating is cheating regardless of income/race/class/etc.

I meant to write "none of my neighbors have seen a VA cheater and they agree with me. But I'm sure you'll jump all over that. People with no argument tend to get really happy over typos.

Yeah, right. What are the chances of that happening? Zero to none.

How do you live in DC and still think that PG is the only county on MD?

That's all you have to say for yourself? That's your big comeback? Even though Moco is referenced above? Wow. Sad.
