Prince Philip has died...

^aww

The Queen tore me up. With her head hanging down all alone. She looked so sad. She truly loved that man. 73 years married is incredible.

I wish I could figure out how to post the picture directly into the post. She looks so beautiful.

Yes, chic and beautiful, best she's ever looked. The jewels belong to the queen, stunning.

I think he was there so we didn't see the mechanics of the coffin lowering. Impressive socks on the bagpiper though.

Distract me again!

She talked over the royal/international correspondent and seemed very ignorant (she said very confidently that Prince Andrew did not serve in the military, when in fact he and Prince Harry are the only ones who saw active duty).

Was it Gayle King?

I never watch American networks for British Royal Family events. They are the worst -- no sense of history, lame/tabloid-like "royal experts" with little sense of history. I think CBS had Omid Scobie as their "expert" who thought Princess Margaret's ex-husband (who died 4 years ago) -- INSTEAD of her son -- was walking in the procession after Prince Philip's casket.

It's why I switched over the the BBC. None of the U.S. anchors would shut.up.

Me too. They were silent.

I hope she doesn't pass away from heartbreak. Sometimes that happens to a widowed spouse .

She is sad, but she is determined and strong, and Philip had been fading away for a while. He didn’t retire because he had his full faculties. He was off in that cottage with a caretaker.

Kate is elegant. Regal. Her coat was gorgeous, her hair was perfect, and the jewelry was lovely.

what if Harry names his daughter after him?

Phillippa Diana has a nice ring to it

It was so heartbreaking to watch the queen sit there alone with tears running down her face. If she has been vaccinated and so has Charles and Anne why couldn’t they sit next to her?

Is Pippa Middleton named Phillipa?

I think they’re desperate enough to name the baby Diana. Diana Doria Elizabeth. Then they’ll have ownership over the name and nobody can stop them for using it in their branding.

Pippa is the nickname for Phillippa. They would never name her after Kate's sister.

I haven’t read whole thread. Did anyone mention there was a blind gossip about Prince Phillip was going downhill a month or so ago, and ppl were asked to visit to say their goodbyes. Harry chose not to.

Does anyone really need to be told to visit their almost 100-year old grandparent that they haven’t seen in a year? I guess the Oprah interview was more important.

Because part of her job as monarch is to set an example for her public. She knows that social distancing is still important and has employed it fully. That's what makes her Queen.
