Should they have rounded up every seventh and grade boy and accused them individually? If there had been an immediate claim, something could have been done. But that didn't happen. And that unfortunately means that the allegation cannot be proved at this time unless a credible lead emerges. And it appears that one has not.

While we would have liked the case to be solved, most of the anger is about how GDS has mishandled their response. The company they hired for their “independent investigation.” Their secrecy about what exactly that investigation was and the results. In addition to their awful forced statements. Being unwilling to share info with the victim and his family.

Exactly this. Long time GDS parent here. 100 percent agree. How do we let our displeasure be known?

People should band together and walk, don't keep giving them your money which is an investment, you don't keep investing in a questionable stock. Your child is more important than money or a stock why would you keep sending your child somewhere where they already botched up their most important job to watch over them as they educate them. This isn't the first time these people have screwed up. Stop putting the hope of more money and power ahead of your child.

Why can’t the police just come out publicly with the result of their investigation? That would go a long way in tamping down the crazies on this thread.

How exactly did GDS botch the job to watch over kids? I thought the police found no evidence of any wrongdoing.

The victim's family would have access to the police report. Because there are minors involved, the general public would not have access to this report unless they file a petition to access the records.
Unfortunately there are a few posters on this thread who perhaps believe they are helping the victim's family by denouncing the school and Russell, but do not seem to realize that they come off as unhinged and irrational. Sadly, they are doing the opposite of helping.
The victim's family has retained counsel, according to their letter, and we can only assume that counsel is providing guidance and information to the family about what they have access to legally. There is a lot of misinformation about the legal process on this thread. I wish the family well.

The police don’t need to release the police report in order to publicly announce the results of their investigation though. Doing that would tamp down on a lot of the conspiracy theories here I’d assume.

The police had nothing to do with the tenor of emails from HOS.

The GDS response is concerning. No process excuse is sufficient to hide behind. Smearing the child and stonewalling the family is unacceptable. Not putting the community on notice that an assault was reported and being transparent about safety protocols being changed breached trust with the entire community. Not addressing consent with students beginning in the relevant grades when they direct other schools to do so in an annual conference is frankly astonishing.

Exactly. GDS needs to clean house.

55 pages of a thread and somehow the public statement by the police that there’s no there there has been lost to the crazies yelling about Jeffrey Epstein. What a mess of a thread

The police statement said that the allegation was credible but that they had no credible leads to investigate.

Which then created this circular mess.

Only a person paid by GDS would keep doing this over and over on every comment that is negative of GDS. No parent would have the time to keep doing this. Taken from the fraudster handbook. DARVO---Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim with Offender

Nice use of DARVO in accusing others of using DARVO. Still waiting to hear what exactly GDS did here to “botch up its most important job to watch over” kids.

Where did you find the MPD statement that the allegation was credible? The only quote from the MPD about the allegation that I’ve found publicly (the student newspaper) said:

“Following an exhaustive investigation by MPD detectives,” an MPD spokesperson wrote to the Bit, “this case has been closed due to the absence of credible leads.” The spokesperson did not specify when the department closed the case. “The case would be reopened should new, credible evidence be presented to MPD,” the spokesperson wrote”
