What? That's crazy. No one is sending out offers for the 26/27 yet unless your kid is the next Mia Hamm.

That's what you think, but there are many kids across many clubs that already know exactly where they'll be playing next year.... Realistically if you're top 3 or 4 player on a team, you don't think the club has already extended an offer. It's not as if a team is going to be able to bring in say 16 kids better than your current top 3 or 4 players.

Sure but you're telling me some kid who has been playing at GFR Is now considered one of the top 3 or 4 kids on VRSC's 09 team? Find that very hard to believe having a fairly decent knowledge of both of those teams.

Yep, and you haven’t even seen the best ones yet from GFR.

Actually, I have. The best ones left years ago. A couple good players still there but they won’t beat out the current players for starting positions on a team with 22 on the roster already
.

They will take 5-6 new players and expect those not getting playing time to quit.

Those who are not 100% committed have already been spoken to. This, together with age a group change, will allow for openings.

Very good point with the age group change; that shifts a lot of players. I always see clubs make room for new money and talent. It’s just hard for parents who have players that are on the bubble to handle this time of year.

If your player thinks he/she is on the bubble for next season the player should be looking at all options right now.

Does this mean ED and CC who are “on the bubble” of skill as a coach need to also look for another job?

Them dudes who starve to death if it weren’t for “soccer”

This is what failure in life looks like. Do they get a trophy just for showing up? If they applied the same standard they apply to players, they both get let go mid season. Can the club bring in a new coach for the all the HA programs and make them assistants or move to a rec program?

I don't think many people consider failing coaching a team to 1st place and being the Director of the Girls side in 2nd place overall in GA. If that is failure, what do you call NVA and Loudoun? Maybe an extra adjective in front of failure? What did you expect from the guy, winning a National Championship in his first two years at a Club that was an NCSL bottom dweller before he came? I dunno. Just calling a spade a spade. When I think of failure, I tend to think teams coached are bottom of table and club overall is at the bottom too. I'm normal though and the posts on this thread does not make me think their are many rational folks here.

Cute. He has played the mediocre opponents in Fall deliberately to get that trip to CA on VRSC parents’ dime.

The team he’s coaching wasn’t bottom dweller at NCSL. He literally brought as much as he humanely could from FCV. That included coaches to appeal his ego. However, not much is expected from someone who thinks a bar is a normal thing to have around minors and applauds the former owner’s affairs.

Mediocre is not playing the #1 Club in Mid Atlantic twice. If he did actually want a watered down schedule, he would have asked to play NVA and Loudoun twice instead of Charlotte Independence and CDA. Heck, even Skyline 2x for that matter who is doing better overall. What is cute is your conspiracy theories! CC having Oktoberfest during games and practices, the former owner, who was fired, having open casting calls with wives, ED channeling his inner Cheech and Chong, coaches talking to kids like Bobby Knight on a bad day. Coaches that hate the USA as much as the Ayatollah. Oh, and the facility is really Senor Frog's of Loudoun...with soccer fields. This is what you have amounted to.

The league sets the schedule not the coaches but you already knew that. The club qualified for champions cup (FL) based on last year’s performance but you already knew that too. You think repeating your nonsense here will make a difference but it clearly hasn’t based on the club’s growing number of teams. Keep pissing into the ocean, my friend. It’s having no effect. As all the people you hate are getting the last laugh because you waste so much of your time thinking and posting about them. Who’s winning here?

Well if your daughter has any interest in college soccer, the club ranking matters because her team will get access to the better recruiting showcases if the club qualifies for champions cup. Even if her team is in last place they will get to play in the best showcases that GA offers

Then we can all watch VRSC go 1-17 in Champions Cup again next year.

Who is responsible for the dismal college recruiting over the past 20 months? Who is responsible for the 1-17 performance in Champions league? What good does going to the Champions League do because you out strategized but didn’t out coach? Why are players being displaced during crucial recruiting events with players that aren’t being recruited? Why would ED be allowed to be cheech and Chong and still be present for any coaching job..assuming that is true? It has been mentioned here multiple times. Most of the players at club level are expected to “perform or be replaced.” Why are the coaches not held to the same standard? In the real world, people who make excuses rather than perform are replaced. Why are these coaches allowed to fully insulate themselves from the parents and only allow input from a small select group of parents? I’m sure you can post some more excuses here though. The writing is on the wall and the time will come when you can’t avoid your own responsibility any longer. It matters not what is said here. Reality is reality.

If you knew anything about college showcases then you would know the score in a showcase does not matter. What matters is who is watching your player and what they do while on the field. Coaches at these events come to see the players who have been in contact with them in advance. They have watched their film. They will only see 20-30 minutes of the game. The college coaches do not care what the score is.

The dismal recruiting is because the player pool is weak. It’s not because of what a coach did or didn’t do. The best players in the pool are at the ECNL clubs.

Give me a break - getting shut out matters. Especially if you can’t score as an attacking mid/forward or give up a bunch of goals on defense.

Wrong again. There’s so much more you are missing. The poster is right and it will catch up with these coaches. Already they moved ED out of GA. Most of our parents saw how bad he was. If he wasn’t buddies with See see, he would already be gone. I’m wonder why thie club director was terminated mid season from his previous club? What happened there? Do you know?

If you knew anything, or were honest with yourself or others, you'd know/admit college coaches aren't coming to watch VRSC players. Fact. Some bottom feeders may see them and take interest in them as a backup plan but they aren't coming specifically to see them.

The truth hurts. Sorry, not sorry. And yeah. My kid is better than yours. I say that preemptively before you try the whole, "Oh you must think your kid is so great." Again, the truth can be painful sometimes. Have a day.

The recruiting class of 2027 is the first year that rosters were limited for D1. The unfortunate reality is acces to D1 schools is halved. Many 2026 won’t even make it to their Sophomore year. The fall off will be greater than ever.

The clubs failure to plan is evident.

The club just dropped about $15-20K in the pothead travelling to wales and back a couples of times… gotta say tho, it sort of makes me thing that federation also hands out licenses like candy as long as there is a paying client
