My DC has been with Rev for years and honestly I think they have tried to take on too much growth too fast. As with any institution you’re going to have people who are unhappy. I think we can have an honest discussion with those who are not fans to hear what they clearly feel are real issues. I have seen the club culture change over the years (more rapidly in the last two with the addition of some different-minded people) and it no longer matches my values. I’d be interested to know what other long timers (5+ years for us) think? Each of the changes (RSA, LU, Academy Select, GA, MLS Next 2, new fields etc) happened at the same time (almost) and none of them were given the attention or resources needed to be a success.

Anyone in the business world knows a major project should have its own team to succeed. Why is CCs name on literally everything? Even if he’s Superman, he can’t possibly have the expertise, time or resources to man all these different expansions. I keep thinking of the wise words of Ron Swanson “Never half ass two things. Whole ass one thing”. Rev needs to pick one thing, put their all in it, make it a success and then move to the next.

I’m so disappointed in the administration. Rev was supposed to be different from the other clubs but they’re not anymore. The “One Club. One Home. One Family” culture is gone.

Watched a few Rev games coached by CC…he is no Superman. Keep paying that salary though. That is all…

Lmao too much bootlicking with bum who only gets off his beach chair to yell like a deranged drunk

CC was given the roles he was given because he got VRSC into GA. The club was trying to get into a national platform and ECNL was not happening with NVA down the road. VRSC seized the opportunity to get GA when they could. I dont blame them for that.

I do agree the atmosphere has changed for the worse at the club since they brought in CC and his coaches from FCV. It immediately brought the same nonsense and drama that other clubs go through that drive families away. Unfortunately, the genie is out of the bottle and there's no going back to the way things were before their arrival.

The kids are happy with their teammates and current coaches so we dont have any plans to leave.

That’s cute-VRSC exists because of coaches who are no longer employed. Make all the mental gymnastics you want, the reality is you have a German and bunch of English dudes bragging about UEFA coaching but… fleecing Americans for their ignorance and their kids dreams.

There’s plenty of room for a strong community club that treats its players and families well without constantly hyping the “next big thing” like MLS or ECNL. In fact, the numbers show there are far more players in the middle-to-lower tiers—which means, in theory, that model could be even more profitable.

Here are my observations from that small club that used to be at Morven Park: They wanted to stick it to Loudoun, so they tried to out-facility them and come off as the shinier club. Then they tried to look cooler by aligning with Loudoun United. After that, they took a swing at Barca Academy, which backfired since that club was shaky to begin with, and it pushed them into partnering with another rival, FCV. All these battles in an attempt to compete, yet they never built their own identity. Now it’s full of drama, and honestly, no one wants to deal with the Kardashian-level, non-soccer nonsense.

My advice to the administrators: get tough, get organized, and get focused on the pitch. None of your teams can compete with the likes of VDA or Arlington and that's ok.

What drama? We’ve been there for a couple years and see nothing

Rev is caught in the middle of the club they used to be and the club they want to be, and the result is that no one is satisfied. The families who preferred the former don’t like the drama and the families who came for the latter ultimately realize the soccer is still garbage.

What needs to be discussed is why the boys program is being provided so much more than the girls program. It’s a sad state.

Rev parent here. Couple points. Club def took a “if you build it, they will come” approach to the whole program. Half the coaches are solid, the other half need to go. Def favoring the boys right now. Girls teams almost never see Field 1 with the nice stands & snack bar. When leadership has their own boys in the program, it creates an obvious conflict of interest. CC clearly has plans in place for growth (better futsal program this winter, Super Y coming, doing something with the extra land there, etc. But having him coach teams doesn’t help with his time management skills in my opinion. With the ongoing mess in GFR the club may stand to benefit from coaches & players heading that way next year. But def need to clean house of some coaches to advance the program and avoid kids jumping to best geographic rival - LS/NVA. Parents notice the coaching issues there. Just my two cents.

Thanks, honest observations. Hope they figure it out.

Wow if that’s what the hush hush was about bringing the goons from GFR then you can kiss goodbye a big chunk of your clients.

There are no good coaches in this club from what I’ve seen. They shift them around because people are constantly complaining about the one they have. They recruit players to try to strengthen their teams rather than actually develop players as the club model is intended. They seek out kick and run players so they can win local games in weaker leagues but fail to compete when they play a decent national team. They also promote kids during key recruiting years taking positions from those who are already recruiting age. These deals are made under the threat to leave the club by the parents. They overlook simple short coming like player doesn’t look up or player doesn’t connect a pass. These failures are exactly reason they can’t compete on a wider stage. There is a general lack of quality coaches in the area even beyond this club so sad state of affairs.
