Depends on what your kids aspirations are; if they only aspire to play at the youth level then yeah. If they have aspirations of going to any higher level, then going to a team where they can learn tactics other than boot and chase will obviously increase their chances in the long run.

VRSC's "continual evaluation" instead of proper annual tryouts seems to be driving kids over to other clubs. All the existing families are feeling left out and overlooked since they keep tacking on mini-tryout and invite only ID's for external kids which all take priority over existing kids.

It's interesting to watch the admin fumble a paradigm that's existed for so long. Tryouts exist for a reason, even though we all know they're biased and the decisions are already known ahead of time. They don't understand optics

Yep. When the teams have tournaments and a Spring schedule to prepare for.

Other clubs do this too, at nearly every practice, especially in the spring.

Also the existing club kids don't have to try out for the team again... Once you make a rev team, you never try out again. That's the continual eval thing

But when do they tell them they are getting moved up or down? Surely they aren't swapping kids all over the place all year?

They claim this now but was never the case before. Kids who had been with the club for years got cut last spring.
