Hey. I hate Trump. I'm as anti-MAGA as a person can get. I did not vote for Youngkin. I did vote for Miranda. She's the much better qualified candidate.

She and her supporters of whom there are clearly many on there could quickly and easily quiet the conjecture by stating who she voted for in the last gubernatorial election. What we need is someone who can read a budget, who can ask smart questions, and who knows something about APS, including its strengths and its weaknesses. Not someone whose connection to this area is so tenuous he has to cite having visited Arlington at 13 as evidence of his community commitment. Please.

She and her supporters of whom there are clearly many on there could quickly and easily quiet the conjecture by stating who she voted for in the last gubernatorial election. I can't speak for Miranda because I am not Miranda. The reason no one is answering for her is because IN THE US WE HAVE PRIVATE BALLOTS. I would be surprised if she voted for Youngkin. But, as PP above said, if you want to know the answer to that, you have to ask Miranda, who, I know for a fact, intentionally does not follow stuff like this because, sheesh, who would?

And yet he has enough wherewithal to know we need local pols who will stand up to Youngkin. And Miranda does not.

How exactly do you envision Angelo standing up to Youngkin? Is APS currently in a direct battle with Youngkin that I am unaware of?

What we need is someone who can read a budget, who can ask smart questions, and who knows something about APS, including its strengths and its weaknesses. Not someone whose connection to this area is so tenuous he has to cite having visited Arlington at 13 as evidence of his community commitment. Please.

Banning mask mandates takes away a community’s ability to make the best choices for its constituents.

We dropped masks after the CDC updated their guidance. It was within about two weeks of VA law passing and right after spring break. Are you saying the CDC was controlled by Republicans in Richmond?

Oh please. It's not about dropping the mask mandate. It's about a VA state law the prohibits schools from deciding to ever require masks again. EVER. We could have people dying left and right from a horrible new variant but now thanks to people like you and Miranda, this public health tool can never be used again in schools. There is no local control at all now.

The pledge is BS. I hate that it exists, but this time I signed it. I am not currently affiliated with any party, did NOT vote for Youngkin, hate the MAGAs and everything they stand for, am not/have never been a member of APE or even received their newsletter, and have a child in APS and have been very involved with their schools and APS issues over the years. If I ran for school board, people would point to all of the things I haven’t done and denounce me as unqualified and ridiculous (at best). But we should all rally around yay Angelo and his “exceptional youth” because Miranda’s husband is a tool? Eff that.
