She's not being truthful. She said she has a rising APS middle schooler, but she says right on her website that this kid is not in APS.

I don't have a lot of tolerance for lies or half truths.

Her website states that child returning to APS for middle school. It’s accurate to say she has a rising APS middle schooler.

She knows her stuff too. Opposed to youngkin trans policy, supports APS policy, addressed the literacy needs and achievement gaps of our kids. Lots of details. She’s done doing her homework.

It's shady and evasive to say you have a "rising APS middle schooler" when the kid is in a private school!

I don’t know either of these candidates but a lot of people put their kids in private during the pandemic. This was a once-in-a-lifetime tragic event and people did what they felt was best for their kids within their means. He’s coming back and she’s being truthful. This is a non-issue if I’ve ever seen one.

Even one of our current board members moved kids to private school during pandemic. Might even still be there. I don’t know. Not sure anyone ever talked about it. Her website is clear that one of 3 children is in private and that child is returning to APS for middle school. Ergo a rising APS middle schooler. Move on.

Oh and that SB member moved the kid AFTER the decision to close schools happened. And it was never treated like the scandal it should have been.

That wasn’t a scandal and this isn’t a scandal. One of her 3 kids moved to private and that kid is moving back to public for middle school. They are, by definition, a rising APS middle schooler. Nothing to see here.

PP was talking about Priddy who moved a kid to a parochial school. Never has been asked about it or explained why, which is fine I guess. But it’s not a good look when you keep lowering the bar for APS kids and then send your own elsewhere to a more traditional school.

He made the move after APS decided to close for 2020-2021. Must be nice to have options…

OMG you'll just find a reason to pick at anything and everything when your mind is hell-bent against someone. If her child is going to go to an APS 6th grade, they're a rising APS middle schooler! I guess she has to put the full context around it and say, my child is currently in a private school but will be attending "x" APS middle school next year? Then how will you pick it apart and tear her down?

Angelo also dismissed some questions on AEM. The answers and responses he did provide reak of "politician" and not of someone passionate - or even knowledgeable - about APS issues.

Yes and I can say the same about one of our school board candidates. must be nice to have options that the rest of us don't have.

so that's not cherry picking but me pointing out Miranda's evasive answer on where her kids go to school is?

are you really ok with her saying she's a Drew parent when NONE of her kids go to Drew???

I find it rather creepy that she is on the PTA of a school that none of her kids attend. I would feel weird about any adult who did the same.

She used to have children at Drew. Why are you are weirdly obsessed about this?

She has not said she's a Drew parent even though she used to be. Her neighborhood school is Drew That's usually what people say when their don't go to the neighborhood school. She's pretty transparent about this on her website. And still supports her neighborhood school. That sounds great to me. Ask the Drew PTA if they are ok with it. My guess is they are. Weird people want to beat up on her for doing a job at the PTA she was a founding member of. Probably why she seems to have a lot of support in the caucus and the Green Valley community.

I mention that something's creepy once and I'm suddenly obsessed with it? Miranda's supporters are truly digging her grave.

I volunteer at the schools where my children attend. And when one of my children moved to middle school, I did not feel the need to continue volunteering at the ES. There were others to take my place. I promise that Drew will be fine without her.

So yes, Miranda is creepy. She should seriously stop volunteering at Drew because I'm sure I am not the only person who feels that way.

You have strong opinions for someone with no ties to the school. Almost like it’s a personal vendetta.

DP. She's been a prominent player in APS over the last couple of years. People have opinions. People will also scrutinize SB candidates' words and actions.

That’s funny. Now do candidates for school board w/out kids in the system. Are they creepy too?

It’s between Miranda and a kid who knows nothing. I’m voting for Miranda. Plus she can’t be worse than any of the school board members we already have especially CDT.
