Where do average students go to school?

Just curious where kids with a 3.2 gpa go to college?

State schools. Perhaps not the flagship, but if they do well, they can usually transfer second year.

Lower ranked LACs or state school

One or two below flagships. If have money, any one of 4000 colleges except top 100-200 schools.

Oh come on. They can get into LACs or Unix ranked outside the top 50

Not going to say it's not possible. OP didn't provide much info other than 3.2 GPA - is it weighted, unweighted, test scores, number of AP, URMs, first gen... I mean there are so many variables. For totally unhooked kids, i standby my previous post.

Say maybe not top 50 but even that is debatable. But pp is right- too many variables.

At our “average high school”, according to Naviance, these students go to pretty good colleges!

Such as?

I know 3.2 doesn't get a UMC white kid into UMCP.

What about Towson? Yes or no?

Or does 3.2 mean you need to look further down the MD food chain? And, what's the pecking order? UMBC, Frostburg, then Salisbury?

Our DS had a slightly higher GPA (3.4 UW) last year
Accepted: Towson, Miami OH, Delaware, Elon, JMU, VT, South Carolina, Pitt, Indiana

Denied: UMD, Clemson, Tulane, U of Miami

Anywhere they want if their parents have enough money (see Lori Loughlin and Jared Kushner)

3.2 from what type of school.

There are 3000+ colleges. They go to one of them.

Why just state schools? Plenty of private schools are easier to get to not than public schools.
