Fall 2026 Age Group Matrix (Birthdate Range)
U7: Aug 1, 2019 – Jul 31, 2020
U8: Aug 1, 2018 – Jul 31, 2019
U9: Aug 1, 2017 – Jul 31, 2018
U10: Aug 1, 2016 – Jul 31, 2017
U11: Aug 1, 2015 – Jul 31, 2016
U12: Aug 1, 2014 – Jul 31, 2015
U13: Aug 1, 2013 – Jul 31, 2014
U14: Aug 1, 2012 – Jul 31, 2013
U15: Aug 1, 2011 – Jul 31, 2012
U16: Aug 1, 2010 – Jul 31, 2011
U17: Aug 1, 2009 – Jul 31, 2010
U18: Aug 1, 2008 – Jul 31, 2009
U19: Aug 1, 2007 – Jul 31, 2008

Matrix that actually has the info people need

11v11 = U18/U19 = 8/1/2008 + younger = Senior
11v11 = U18/U19 = 8/1/2008 + younger = Junior
11v11 = U17 = 8/1/2010 + younger = Sophmore
11v11 = U16 = 8/1/2011 + younger = Freshman
11v11 = U15 = 8/1/2012 + younger = 8th grade
11v11 = U14 = 8/1/2013 + younger = 7th grade
11v11 = U13 = 8/1/2014 + younger = 6th grade
9v9 = U12 = 8/1/2015 + younger = 5th grade
9v9 = U11 = 8/1/2016 + younger = 4th grade
7v7 = U10 = 8/1/2017 + younger = 3rd grade
7v7 = U9 = 8/1/2018 + younger = 2nd grade
4v4 = U8 = 8/1/2019 + younger = 1st grade
4v4 = U7 = 8/1/2020 + younger = kindergarten

Soooo much better
It's still butchered, aka wrong.

The issue is clubs are dumb and arrogant. The people at leagues are even more dumb and arrogant. Parents need to call them out or they'll make poor decisions.

The age guy is exploiting the situation because he wants to play down and if more parents are doing it with him he wont look as weird. He doesnt care that Aug birthdays playing down a grade will makes them misaligned with level played in club and grade in school which will screw players over when college coaches are looking to recruit them.
Except college coaches told clubs they don't care what age groups recruits are in. You are inventing a problem that doesn't exist so no, leagues and clubs aren't going to try to fix something that doesn't exist.

Why do you just repeat the same wrong statements. College coaches only care about a players graduating year or grade in school. Which if parents followed your advice would lead Aug birthdays to being misaligned between level played in club and grade in school. College Coaches will ignore this type of player. Can you address the issue by attending oollege camps? Maybe but why even play club soccer if you plan to get noticed at college id camps not club events?

Very clear, no spin.

Will this impact college recruiting?
The new two-year age group structure will not negatively impact college recruiting. College coaches evaluate players based on their performance, development, and potential—not the exact age grouping of their club team.

That is just nonsense that a club said so parents wont scream that its stupid for Aug birthdays to be playing down on a team with players a grade below them in school.

Again club and league people are arrogant and dumb. When people try to explain that what clubs are doing doesn't make sense they consider it a challenge and double down on being stupid.

Copa FC actually spoke with college coaches to get their feedback on the subject and after doing so chose to group Aug birthdays on their grade in school team. Which btw is what most clubs are doing if they actually take the time to speak with college coaches getting their feedback on the subject.

Fc copa

We had separate conversations with several college coaches. Those coaches made it incredibly clear that it does not matter the age of the player.

With Eastside, it is clear that you need to be the best player you can be. The youngest of an age group tend to quit and are the least likely to play in college.

Do we really have to go though your lies all over again?

The part you're glossing over is that FC Copa said that college coaches dont care about age because graduating year or grade in school is all that matters to them.

Which comes back to being misaligned in level played in club and grade in school. If you're kid is playing a level below all other kids their grade in school theyre at a serious disadvantage when it comes to college recruiting.

College coaches evaluate players based on their performance, development, and potential—not the exact age grouping of their club team.

Makes sense because they have to evaluate the recruits; HS, transfers and foreigners, all playing on different types of teams, that contact them equally to find the best players or fits for their school.

Targeting Auguest players is a bixch move dude.

Nobody is targeting anyone. Having Aug birthdays play on their grade in school team is much better for them and the club.

Why are you putting your child in the care of dumb and arrogant people, and also paying them thousands of dollars?
