Because if we use only age everyone is aligned, but once you bring grade into then we start having misalignments. |
Thats like saying if you dont believe in water you wont drown in a pool. Grade level exists and was the primary driver for switching from BY back to SY. |

Matrix that actually has the info people need

It's mainly better for you, for your Sept girl. So she can be the oldest. Funny how you don't have an August birth but are consumed with forcing them to play up. It didn't work. Even if someone fell for it, clubs block playing up for very few around here on competitive clubs. So asking to play up when not ready won't work. |

Your agenda is showing again. |
Then go to grade year! |
Kind of rude considering someone offered you to help but you still bungled it. |
Primary isn’t the same as sole driver. They didn’t define it as grade level. They defined it as dob 8/31-9/1. Because it addressed the primary driver as best they thought possible without making it grade level. Please stop arguing. You’re wrong. Kids can play on age or up. It may be that the club goes with players preference, but that’s not guaranteed. Stop ranting about “for college recruiting.” Reach out to coaches and if you’re good enough, you’ll have an opportunity somewhere whether you are on age or playing up. |

I don’t think this will be a one size fits all approach. I have 3 ECNL clubs in my area and all are taking different approaches to this.
Full change for all players no playing up, will allow some kids to play up depending on coaches decision, will let Aug-Dec players who are grade above play up to stay with school grade team (if they are at the level to make the team). |
Not wrong and nobody is "bungling" anything. Other than you when you try to convince Aug birthdays to play a grade down on a team with players a grade below them in school. |
Its hard because rational people see that kids want to play on teams with other kids that are their grade in school. Age guy wants plastic trophies and doesnt care what his kid would prefer. Coaches are stuck in the middle. They know that Aug birthdays playing on the team thats their grade in school is the way to go. But the play downers are always looking to ways to cheat by playing their kid down against younger players. Which makes things difficult. |
How is being the oldest kid within your age group cheating? So are January birthdays cheating under the current BY? Next year, Aug Birthdays play on age, or up on age. They can’t play down, so there can’t be play downers cheating anyone. Just accept that you’re wrong and that your kid isn’t good enough to make the team that they want to play on without forcing some one else to play up on age so that your kid can keep spot on team. |
