For the Dem promise of funds, not actual funds? |
Not THIS we...no way, no how. Trump is a buffoon. |
Yes, actual funds. The full deal would have been in a single bill. But since he reneged there was no bill. |
Not to mention that he couldn't get his own party to give him the funds for the wall. But, somehow it is Nancy's fault now?! How are Republicans "united" when he can't make a deal with his own party? |
Ezra Klein was saying he doesn’t want the wall (if he wanted it badly he would be more willing to negotiate and compromise). He really just wants the fight because that keeps his base happy and engaged |
Trump had TWO YEARS to get the Republicans to vote and fund the rest of the wall. Why didn't he do it? |
Because he promised Mexico was going to pay for the wall. Remember? Now 1 million Americans are losing their paychecks because he can't keep his promises. |
Well, now Jared Kushner is getting involved. So we should be having an end to the shutdown at about the same time that we have peace in the middle East. |

I’d say it will end by early/mid April. |
It could end by the beginning of July. |
False. |
The base wants the wall, not a prolonged fight. |
Can a wall supporter please answer this? What’s a non-political answer why this only became a crisis after Ds took hold of part of Congress? |
Trump should agree to open agencies with "essential" staff to the extent that they will be paid while they work, with the Dems agreeing to a $2 billion "good faith" fund for the wall. Then the rest of the government remains closed until Democrats agree to approve the remaining $3 billion.
"Non-essential" government workers: I'd stsrt looking for a new job if I were you. This could be a while. I just checked Indeed, com and there are tons of openings. |
