He has a diverse background and has no accent, can connect with many because of his diverse living experiences. Multiculturalism.

He moved here when he was young. Then he went to a fancy private school. He is opportunistically diverse, when it serves him.

Mamdani is who he is. I’ve never seen him pretend to be anything but that.

And only white people can go to fancy private schools? Curious why it’s okay for others to attend private schools, but somehow it’s remarkable and even negative when Mamdani does. Tisch obviously is Uber wealthy but it’s rarely mentioned, except as a net positive.

Talk about jumping to conculsions? No one said only white people can go to fancy private schools. I'm the primary anti-Mamdani person. This is not cool by Cuomo. I think the radio thing was also not particularly cool. But I will be fair. I frequently criticized Mamdani for not doing a good job of distancing himself from things even when I admit they are overblown. Similarly, I think the radio thing is overblown but if Cuomo was a better human being he still should be distancing himself from it when given the chance. I don't have a huge issue with what happened there in the moment. But when asked about it afterwards, he should have been stronger about saying it wasn't OK. And he didn't.

Despite saying this I'm sure my adversary here will still find a reason to insult me, despite my frequent efforts to find common ground. Still waiting for them to say one negative thing about Mamdani, the golden child.

Mamdani is popular because he is saying he will support regular people over billionaires and corporations. He is responding to the historic economic inequality in the US. And predictably, the people who support billionaires and corporations - and see the people only as money to be made off of - are strongly opposed.

The thing is, they did not expect Mamdani to be so anti-corporation. The Republicans didn't even run a serious candidate in their primary. So they are stuck with Sliwa. When they realized their mistake, they threw their support behind the only possible candidate - Cuomo, who to be fair, is a total disaster of a candidate. The city didn't collapse under Adams and it won't collapse under Mamdani.

I actually think Cuomo’s AI video is pretty funny and I might vote for Mamdani. I support his views on building more housing, expanding bike and pedestrian infrastructure and cutting red tape. I do not support free buses or chasing away billionaires.

FWIW, Mamdani’s position on crime (that may be perceived as too relaxed) is the weakest point of his campaign. Cuomo’s video tries to emphasize this weakness.
