You think the truth is an odd thing to include in a work email? Says a lot about how you usually do business.

Go away, troll.

I've worked for the government for decades and never seen such blatant political statements in a broadcast email in my life. Blatant Hatch act violation but laws don't matter any more.

While I completely agree that it was inappropriate and irrelevant, I doubt it’s a Hatch Act violation. Sounds like everyone got the same paragraph so it was flowed down from the WH.

Ugh… that’s irrelevant to the Hatch Act. Laws don’t magically go away because the President broke them. How are people so ignorant? This is how we got here. 🤦‍♀️

The president and vice president are exempt from the Hatch Act.

They didn’t sign the emails the departments sent out.

I've been present for shutdowns during a Democratic presidency (Obama, 2013) and a Republican presidency (Trump I, numerous false scares, 2018-19). I have NEVER received a shutdown-related email that called out either party. This is pretty shocking.

reporting on the facts is not partisan here are the facts as stated on all left and right wing media:

Leaders in Congress met with President Trump at the White House on Monday afternoon, but emerged from the meeting having made little progress. Republicans want to extend current funding levels for seven weeks to avoid a shutdown, but Democrats are seeking an extension of expiring health insurance subsidies. GOP lawmakers say that issue should be negotiated separately.

How come no previous messages written before a shutdown were even remotely close to the one sent to today?

facts are facts not sure what you mean

If presenting what you claim are facts in such a way is totally normal for these emails, why has no other email before a shutdown looked like this one?

I have been in government for over 15 years, and the emails we've received since Jan have been across the board shocking. Calling our former work to address deep inequities "racist" in an all staff email was the opening salvo.

Poster above is just obtuse and seems to get a sick little kick out of the total degradation of our government/civil service.

My agency email, sent after normal COB, was multiple paragraphs blaming “Congressional Democrats” for “forcing” the shutdown. One sentence about who would be furloughed.

Anyone check out hud.gov? More rhetoric.

Repukes on vacation again.
Wasting taxpayer monies again over and over again.

They own this.

Rhetoric? No, sir, that's straight up propaganda.

I hope everyone was smart enough to print out copies of their recent SF50s, mid-year performance reviews, leave balances, and any other documents that they won't be able to access should SHTF...

Did they coordinate these? lol. I know we aren’t at the same agencies. What is up with the unprofessional messaging?! Oh and ours wasn’t signed by a person. It was sent from a generic mailbox in our agency.

Every department got the same email.

I left IRS at 5 and had t gotten this email. But Counsel is often left off these agency type emails and gets them forwarded at a later point.

How long do you think it will last?

“Addressed deep iniquities” absolutely sounds racist AF.

In what way?

We can still go in tomorrow to complete orderly shutdown procedures. Printing these out can be part of those procedures.

I hope I get fired. I don’t want to work for these jackasses a minute longer. Today’s email was the last straw.
