You think the truth is an odd thing to include in a work email? Says a lot about how you usually do business.

Go away, troll.

I've worked for the government for decades and never seen such blatant political statements in a broadcast email in my life. Blatant Hatch act violation but laws don't matter any more.

While I completely agree that it was inappropriate and irrelevant, I doubt it’s a Hatch Act violation. Sounds like everyone got the same paragraph so it was flowed down from the WH.

Ugh… that’s irrelevant to the Hatch Act. Laws don’t magically go away because the President broke them. How are people so ignorant? This is how we got here. 🤦‍♀️

The president and vice president are exempt from the Hatch Act.

They didn’t sign the emails the departments sent out.

Yes, I am prepared. My resume is up to date, I've been networking and looking at job postings in industry to see what's out there (not much but I'll find something even if it's a step down).

That email on agency guidance for the shutdown was extremely unprofessional.

My agency already said none of us will be RIFed.

Are you essential or are you excepted or exempt from furlough? If you are excepted, the guidance is at https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/pay-leave/reference-materials/guidance-for-shutdown-furloughs-sep-28-2025/?

Basically, you can either take paid leave or be temporarily designated as furloughed, which does not count against your paid leave but is paid.

That seems like a promise they are in no position to make.

I've been present for shutdowns during a Democratic presidency (Obama, 2013) and a Republican presidency (Trump I, numerous false scares, 2018-19). I have NEVER received a shutdown-related email that called out either party. This is pretty shocking.

reporting on the facts is not partisan here are the facts as stated on all left and right wing media:

Leaders in Congress met with President Trump at the White House on Monday afternoon, but emerged from the meeting having made little progress. Republicans want to extend current funding levels for seven weeks to avoid a shutdown, but Democrats are seeking an extension of expiring health insurance subsidies. GOP lawmakers say that issue should be negotiated separately.

How come no previous messages written before a shutdown were even remotely close to the one sent to today?

You can still request intermittent absences from duty in accordance with normal processes. There is an OPM Q&A that addresses this on page 14.

Because if Dear Leader issues an executive order to RIF all furloughed employees, they will "have" to comply.

If presenting what you claim are facts in such a way is totally normal for these emails, why has no other email before a shutdown looked like this one?
