MOCO BOE update: Beidleman Report summary

I’ve often wondered if the low person on the ladder is actually the decision maker or if they just regurgitate what someone higher up told them to do. If so, isn’t this puppetry the reason so many complaints were ignored? The system is rigged for the victims and no one in MCPS cared enough to protect the staff. The decision to deny sexual harassment had happened was the boilerplate response.

The BOE and the Council are doing what it takes to limit MCPS's liability in this matter. Don't wait for them to do something. What it would take is well attended protests from a diverse group of people. That does not seem like it will happen. The people that organize protests and community action in this county are either too preoccupied with their right wing causes or unwilling to go up against McKnight.

Wonder if his ex wife had connections? There has to be more of a reason why he never got in trouble.

Stop it! That woman and her sons have been through enough - first privately with him (they divorced for a reason) and now publicly with all of this.

McKnight and the (old) BOE are bad news. I don't understand how they get the County to cover for them? Normally if anyone spends millions of taxpayer dollars to make something "go away"; they're fired the next day for draining resources. For MC to shell out that kind of money, there's got to be someone or something behind it, and there has to be something even more under the hood they're afraid will get out. The investigators must have been close for MC to get that nervous and cut the checks. Maybe digging into other CFP's? Dunno.

This is a school system that has taken the position that it has no obligation to prevent kids from being sexually assaulted in school. Nothing surprises me about what they do anymore. How they’ve handled this scandal is just like they’ve handled the other ones.

“Still, four former central office employees told The Post that McKnight would have been aware of — and would have had to approve — her district’s recent move of Walker to an O level position with a raise. “There’s no way that McKnight wouldn’t have known, procedurally and especially given what a key figure he is in all this, in the middle of a storm. It couldn’t have slipped through,” the former central office employee said“

Geez. McKnight thought she wouldn’t get caught doing this.

“ Montgomery County Public Schools in recent weeks has twice moved Khalid Walker, the investigator who closed an inquiry into misconduct allegations against former Farquhar principal Joel Beidleman, into new jobs — most recently on Friday, hours after The Washington Post sent questions asking why he had received a raise and a new position

I appreciate that today’s article mentions the revictimization we feel every time MCPS makes poor decisions like this.

This is what happens when you hire, surround yourself and take advice from your friends instead of people who are experts in their areas and know what they're doing.

Maybe that sounds like gossip and speculation, so we don't know this.

I am enraged and disgusted with MCPS and all our elected officials that are more concerned with limiting liability than they are with keeping students and teachers safe.

I don't get that impression at all. All the evidence indicates they're trying to do a thorough and fair investigation. Not sure where you are getting these ideas from.

Are you under the influence of a controlled substance right now? What exactly leads you to this opinion? MCPS has NEVER come to Farquhar to ask us about our actual lived experience with these awful admin and their enablers. There is nothing fair about their investigation and they keep hiding things like Walker’s shuffling.
