For sure a good 911 dispatcher would want to stay on the line with her and also instruct her on if / how to approach the toddler. But dispatchers mess up, or maybe Carlee didn’t want to stay in the line.

PP here. I agree. I am interested in how the call went though - did the 911 dispatcher just thank her for bringing it to their attention and hang up? Or did Carlee say she needed to hang up and call her family?

Side note - LE has released an additional detail that Carlee reported a MALE toddler, in a diaper, by the interstate. How on earth would she know it was a male?! Such a bizarre fact for Carlee to report when I doubt you’d be sure of the gender of a child you see in the distance…

I agree she likely made it up, but I read she said the "toddler" was 3-4 years old. Unlikely a kid that old would be in a diaper, but even if it were, by that age you'd be very likely to tell if it were a girl or a boy.

She doesn’t have kids and likely doesn’t have a good sense of how old kids are. If I saw a short haired child in a diaper, I might give the same description.

What mile marker? northbound or southbound?
What do all those signs on the traffic cameras say?

It wasn’t really dense woods. Someone showed a map of the area and it’s just a treeline abutting a residential neighborhood

I think you're onto something because the parents wanted this all to go away like days ago. nobody is looking for a suspect and they will continue to ask for privacy and let this all blow over.

I’m going to agree with this too. The mom’s reaction when the interviewer asked her if she thought there was an abductor sounded like she was doubling down on a lie.

She stopped and got snacks that were NOT found in her car.

These statements definitely read like they think she made the whole thing up. Their focus on what happened “before” she made the 911 cal. Maybe some day we’ll all find out WHY someone would make up such a preposterous story.

People pay extra attention to you.

That's really what it all comes down to.

Attention.

Most missing person's cases don't blow up like this, she fabricated a really bizarre story and so the public latched onto it. I don't think she ever imagined it would blow up like this. I don't think she ever accounted for things like ALDOT footage.

This was a ruse for extra special attention. From who? Maybe the boyfriend, maybe family, maybe friends, maybe everyone. It doesn't really matter now. I hope she finds peace in her confusing ass life.
