Woman missing after reporting seeing a toddler on the highway

Let this thread die.

Don’t give this woman any more attention.

Move on and focus on the women who are truly missing.

I am so relieved this despicable woman is being charged for this outrageous hoax.

I know she is young…..blah blah blah…..but what she did will have a long-lasting negative impact on future situations where an actual abduction will take place & unfortunately no one will believe the victim due to this woman’s hoax story.

It will be like the boy who cried wolf.

We all do stupid stuff when we are young but even at twenty-five I wouldn’t have done something this irresponsible.

She needs to be held accountable both in the legal court (too bad the book cannot be thrown at her on this but the DA has to follow the letters of the law here, I bet if it were up to them, the two misdemeanors would be felonies!) as well as the court of public opinion.

It all reminds me of the runaway bride case from 2005. A woman didn't have the nerve to face her fiance and say she didn't want to get married, so she faked her own kidnapping.
The memorable thing of that incident back in the day was that a cop tossed a crocheted afghan over the bride's head while they escorted her to a police car.

That lady was a nut too, but a big difference is that that was pre social media. Or at least right on the cusp of internet viral stories. When that lady ran away, she was doing it just to avoid getting married. But she didn’t intend for the story to get big. And in 2005, it was reasonable to assume that your own private stories would stay private. Carlee Russell was googling about wanting to get amber alerts. She called the police. She wanted the story to get a ton of publicity. Maybe not to the full level she got, but in CRs case, the publicity was the point of the story, to make her ex jealous.

Good points about the publicity seemed to be a great deal of the objective for Carlee Russell.

Yes I agree.
She wanted to achieve instant, overnight fame and she got that.

Two misdemeanors may be a tiny price to pay but she has been on TMZ, The Today Show, etc.

Hey in a few when all the hoopla dies down she will get her own clothing/skincare/cosmetic/fragrance line.

And will be laughing all the way to the bank.
It worked for the hot felon guy.
Remember him??!

No, and apparently you don't either.
