A woman is missing after calling 911 to report seeing a toddler walking by themselves at night in the highway. I know this area well. What could have happened here? Either she was lured or under the influence of a hallucinogenic drug- I can’t really think of other alternatives. Either way, hope they find her.

They found her car and phone (the phone was still on an open call), really hope they find her.

Oh, no. How horrible. Sounds like lured given the description. I hope she's OK too

Terrifying. Omfg.

My immediate thought is lured. They sent the toddler out there knowing a woman would be the most likely to actually stop and check on its well being. Then grabbed her. Horrifying.

This is horrifying. It absolutely sounds like she was lured. This poor woman

This sounds so so scary. That poor woman and her family.

How scary. Sounds like she was lured. Nothing in the write up indicates she was on a drug. She was coming home from work and had stopped to pick up food.

Absolutely chilling. The poor woman. Whoever did this - I wish the absolute worst for them, with all my heart.

This is horrible. I just read the whole article.
It says the family wants to know why no amber alert. One criteria for an amber alert is a suspect and or a tag/license plate. They have neither so that’s why one wasn’t issued. Just an fyi in case others are wondering too.

She is an adult and not eligible for an Amber Alert. Her family is wondering why an Ashanti alert, which is for adults, was not issued.

The story says she was on the phone with family, who heard her scream. They should have issued the alert but since they don’t know what car she was taken by I’m not sure it would have done anything.

This really should fit the criteria of an Ashanti Alert, which does not require vehicle tags like an Amber Alert: https://bja.ojp.gov/program/ashanti-alert/alert-activation-criteria.

There is no evidence of an accident, like her getting hit by a car, there is evidence of another car being there from the tire marks, and there is a witness statement from the trucker. What a nightmare for her family.

All those alerts require the person to be in a car. Amber, Ashanti and Silver

I’m not saying that is a good idea I’m just explaining.

Same reason though. No suspects or tag info.
