Woman missing after reporting seeing a toddler on the highway

Why didn't they snag a pic of her walking home through the neighborhood?

Just so fishy how after 48 hrs of "fighting for her life" mentally and physically she was released from the hospital so quickly - not even a 24hr observation?

No it doesn’t. If the family really wanted that, they would ask for privacy and stop telling the media she was kidnapped.

If this was a hoax, I don’t think her parents were in on it. Not knowing where their child was must have been awful regardless of the details — abduction, mental crisis, or hoax.

I also think parents disregard logic when it comes to supporting their children. It makes sense to me that they would believe Carlee no matter how implausible Carlee’s story.

Any good podcasts? I can’t find one. Other than one by an AA woman who hasn’t updated after her initial episode about how the media doesn’t care about her because she’s not white. Oops.

When this comes out to be fake, which I think it will, would there be any consequences for this woman?

Why the video footage released but not the 911 call.

Also 911 would want to keep her on the line. Why hang up and call a family member? Also who is the family member? Wouldn’t you most likely call your mom or dad?

For sure a good 911 dispatcher would want to stay on the line with her and also instruct her on if / how to approach the toddler. But dispatchers mess up, or maybe Carlee didn’t want to stay in the line.

There. Was. No. Toddler.

PP here. I agree. I am interested in how the call went though - did the 911 dispatcher just thank her for bringing it to their attention and hang up? Or did Carlee say she needed to hang up and call her family?

Side note - LE has released an additional detail that Carlee reported a MALE toddler, in a diaper, by the interstate. How on earth would she know it was a male?! Such a bizarre fact for Carlee to report when I doubt you’d be sure of the gender of a child you see in the distance…

She stopped and got snacks that were NOT found in her car.

And the police clearly don’t buy the toddler story.

There should be. Didn't that woman in CA (or WA or OR) who "kidnapped" herself get in trouble? I can't remember the name, but I know the case wasn't that long ago... maybe 5-7 years?

We absolutely know it was a hoax, we just don't know why yet

I don't think it was a hoax. I think the young lady had a psychotic episode.

A psychotic break facilitated by her brother’s girlfriend?

If it were a true psychotic break, no way she'd be out of the hospital. Definitely looking like attention-seeking hoax.

100% and she realized she fked up when the traffic footage came out. People forget that cameras are everywhere.

I think the boyfriend or another friend was in on it. They picked her up and deposited her somewhere to wait it out. Especially since it came out that she stopped for snacks on the way home and those weren't found in her car.

What a complete moron. Everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame.

She could have eaten those snacks during the drive. I think this is leaning toward hoax but missing food may not mean much.

I agree she likely made it up, but I read she said the "toddler" was 3-4 years old. Unlikely a kid that old would be in a diaper, but even if it were, by that age you'd be very likely to tell if it were a girl or a boy.
