I guess you missed the countless No Kings protests happening across the country? People are still out protesting every week. |
Do you know her? I don’t! |
Nobody said tens of thousands. But there are far too many doing so in what is considered a civil society. |
Democrats have not been itching to fight. We would like the GOP to come back to the table in Congress in good faith and try to govern again, put the reins on this poopshow of an ignorant, incompetent, Constitution-shredding Trump admin; and compromise on legislation that will help everyone. We would like them to stop demonizing and start governing and compromising. Instead, they are too busy scapegoating immigrants, gay people, trans people, women, POC, and now the entire Democratic party along with anyone else who thinks MAGA is BS and itching to use their guns. This is not a both sides thing and never was. That is the MAGA lie. They project and project and project their pathology onto the Democrats/liberals and think no one will notice? Nah. |
The right wing has a serious problem with the First Amendment. Can’t wait for the ACLU to set Abbott straight. Sorry Texans, this one is going to cost you. |
I mean, cancel culture and free speech, right? |
so the president goes on TV and promises retribution yet folks with 10 followers are responsible for where we are - is that it? |
A couple of pages back, a poster wrote “OMFG - are you kidding? Tens of thousands of progressives have been openly celebrating his murder.” |
100% |
+1. Just going to remind everyone that some of the people celebrating were the target of death threats courtesy of Kirk. That what he did. Death threats. |
X is about as far from a civil society as I can imagine. |
In a country of over 340 million, how many constitutes a critical mass? If it is under "tens of thousands" then it is isn't even a percent. And this is what yu are getting upset about and projecting on what is literally the majority of the country. |
Not fair! You can’t use their own words! |
And that’s putting aside that X is full of bots that are not real people. |
Freedom of speech does not protect you from consequences of your speech. Sure, you can say whatever you want in general, but when you sign a code of conduct for a job or in this case a college, you need to follow by that code of conduct. You break it, you are fired or expelled. In case she also assaulted another student on top of her hate speech. Yo won’t go to jail if you celebrate Kirks’s murder, but you can lose your job or get expelled from school. |
