+1 Especially if the 30 year old wears a Spanx male girdle (aka “Spanx Male Shapewear”) and Depend adult diapers.

Better than Shapiro.
I think she should have gone moderate/ conservative.
Appeal to both aspects of the party, independents and conservative never Trumpers.
3 months from now we'll know.

Nah, that's loser talk. She's already fairly moderate. If she wants to energize her base and increase turnout, this was the smart pick.

I am outside of the DC , though not a swing state the population is very similar to those in swing states.
No she's not moderate by measures outside of the Democratic party or rather a faction of the Democratic party.

If you were alive in the 70s, you know that most current Democratic politicians are more conservative than their predecessors. A lot of them are more conservative than 20th century Republicans.

People urging Democrats to appeal to "moderates" or say that they themselves are "moderates" are really pretty conservative.

+1

Nixon would be labeled a liberal today.

On the other hand, I’ve often read that President Kennedy would be a conservative today and that the Democratic Party is way more liberal today than in the 60s. Everything is relative in terms of the issues people are facing in their own times.

Yes. I thought it was common knowledge that the parties “switched” polarity in the 1960s over the civil rights issue. When Dems like Kennedy embraced civil rights, all the Democrats who opposed civil rights switched to being Republicans.

At the same time, the Republican party went from being the party of Eisenhower and Nelson Rockefeller (and Nixon) to being the party of Barry Goldwater, Reagan, Gingrich, the Tea Party, and now MAGA.

The comment that PP and I were making is not really about the party switch, but about the extreme polarity to the right made by the Republican party at all. Goldwater was really a turning point.

Seriously, both Harris and Walz are 100% progressives with no history of reaching out to the other side. California and Minnesota? That’s like the Republicans putting up an Alabama/Oklahoma ticket and wondering why they’re not catching on.

This. Ugg.

Signed a Moderate Conservative who is:
- Pro-Choice (Dem) but Pro-Life if fetus is viable outside the womb; abortion is not birth control.
- Pro "Legal" Immigration and strongly supportive of border security and even revoking automatic citizenship if born in US (Rep) - apply 3 strikes and you're deported laws for illegal immigrants committing crime.
- Anti carte blanche support of Israel without checks & balances (Rep/Dem?)
- Supportive of LGBTQ Rights (Dem) -- but gender ideology does not belong in schools (Rep) and gender affirming care of minor children such as for a 6 yr old -- is wrong (Rep). This case is on point: https://www.boredpanda.com/dad-granted-full-custody-after-mom-raised-son-non-binary/ -- 4 yr olds should not be forced to be non-binary...geez let kids be kids.
- Healthcare Reform - needed but not so far as to be universal healthcare (Rep)
- Education...in favor of reduced/free college education for the trades -- in fact...take some of the illegal immigrants who have been here for over 10-15+ yrs (because realistically you can't deport them all) and educate them in the trades. Fix our education system and stop focusing on stupid issues that don't belong in schools. Teach tolerance and respect as a two-way street. (Rep..with a dash of Dem)
- Crime -- stop rewarding criminal activity with catch & release!! (Rep

Psssst. You’re not a moderate.

He doesn't look older to me, but I guess I don't really care about that. He appears normal. Beautifully normal.

He appears old and unattractive to me.

Vance, get off DCUM. Don’t you have campaign work to do?

Yep, heard Shapiro declined as know is a losing ticket. He will gear up for 2028.

He will have a long wait if he thinks Trump wins this year and there is an election in 2028.

But somehow Walz is a dead ringer for 84 year old Patrick Leahy.

Yes! He looks 84! Much older than trump.

Until you hear him speak and then you realize how mentally cogent he is! Witty and hilarious and gifted with words.

Boring and normal. Coaches football. Goes hunting. Veteran. Let's his dog sit on the couch... unlike Vance. Vance is very territorial and doesn't let anyone else sit on his couch.

Anonymous wrote:Interesting how posts discussing Walz's executive order declaring Minnesota a sanctuary state for child gender transition are deleted. It's almost as if people know it's wrong, especially when the video featured a 6 year old child the parents are transitioning. If you are proud of something you would want the world to see it not hide it.

It's not something I support but among the many great things he's done, it's not enough to switch my vote to a party of anti-children, anti-women weirdos who want kids without education, food, healthcare, and who want their own wives dead from lack of access to safe reproductive healthcare.

I don't think I could ever vote for the orange and couch lad. They're just too weird.

And transitioning 6 year olds is not weird???

It's evil and child abuse.

Agreed. And yet Walz is ok with it and thinks Minnesota is a model for the rest of the country.

When Kamala was CA Attorney General she pushed for tax payer funded sex changes/cosmetic surgery for violent criminals. She also supported these biological males to be housed with female inmates resulting in rapes. These are the type of radical policies the leftists support.

Since 2017 CA has spent more than $4 million of taxpayer money on surgical sex changes and cosmetic “gender-affirming” enhancements for 157 inmates, including 4 on death row. The state has spent nearly $2.5 million on vaginoplasties and hundreds of thousands of dollars on fake breasts, laser hair removal, and facial feminization since 2017, when California became the first state in the nation to pay for prisoners’ sex-change operations

What's with this obsession with gender changes, MAGAs? You all have their really weird obsession with this. I'd rather spend my time thinking about the issues that impact the vast majority of us, which Harris-Walz are much, much better at addressing.

People should want to protect the most innocent among us....children. Republicans weren't focused on this at all until Democrats decided to push this gender ideology onto kids and celebrate 6 year olds transitioning. I agree it is a minor issue compared to other things facing our country, but when children are potentially getting harmed we need to stand up against it not celebrate it.

You and the other PPs harping on this are loons. Liars and loons. Acknowledging the existence of trans people is not "pushing an ideology," you loon, and nobody's "celebrating 6 year olds transitioning," you liar.

Trans adults can exist and live their lives but why is there a need to validate and expand the movement with children? Something as life changing as changing your gender is not a decision a child should be making. If a child can consent to changing their sex, what’s stopping the next thing to be a child can consent to it as well? Republicans and many progressive Democrats see the sea change and we don’t like it.

You loons act like little Timmy can come home from school one day, announce he's a girl and get put on puberty blockers the next day with surgery scheduled for the following week. Transitioning is a long, complex process entailing sometimes YEARS of counseling and therapy before physical interventions are even discussed.

You would think the party of parents rights would be really happy about this

Parents' Rights, yes, but NOT to the detriment of the child. Example, I have the right to spank my child (talking about a minor slap on the buttocks)...but I do not have the right to put my child in a cage. Case in point: https://www.boredpanda.com/dad-granted-full-custody-after-mom-raised-son-non-binary/. You have the right to teach your child about gender ideology, but you do not have the right to force them to believe in your own gender ideology. You have the right to teach your child about gender ideology...but not the right to teach other children about your gender ideology. Take gender out of schools 100% I say. Stick to science. Female Bathrooms, Male Bathrooms, Unisex Bathrooms.
