My very bad “allergies” was Breakthrough Covid the whole time and I feel horrible about it.

Interesting article, since we're basing our opinions only on unscientific data points, what does this tell us?
Of the 346 fully vaccinated cases, median age was 42, and 87% were men.

It turns out it wasn’t allergies, it was extremely mild covid. I’m vaccinated.

No, this is not good news. Yes, vaccinated people are more likely to get very mild cases. But I had it the WHOLE TIME. Two weeks or so. Who knows how many people I’ve spread it to? I work from home, but I’ve gone out to restaurants, gone over friends houses, I haven’t been staying home. At all. Haven’t heard of any symptomatic cases from friends I’ve contacted yet but I could have infected someone who is not vaccinated or can’t be vaccinated, has young children, or is immunocompromised.

Wear your masks folks.

I find it funny you are lecturing others to wear masks. You were behaving very poorly going to restaurants and others homes. No surprise you caught it.

Haven't you ever heard of "lessons learned" and "cautionary tale." She is warning others not to make the same mistake she did.

Sick people stay home. Real novel idea there. Why did op assume allergies in the first place?

You're making me feel better about my decision to get tested after I noticed my arm shaking while working out one morning. I also had a runny nose and occasionally a scratchy throat. It screwed up the rest of my week while I was waiting for the results - which ultimately were negative. I was relieved but I also had felt maybe I was making too big a deal out of that shaky arm. Now I'm glad I was careful.

Now I'm just planning to get tested regularly. We have folks with co-morbidities in my family. I'm not taking any chances.

This is why I still wear masks indoors.

WTF? If you are symptomatic you need to stay away from other people or you can spread it. Full stop.

I’m the pp and every minor nasal thing anyone in my family has from here on our is going to be “allergies.” I’m not testing a damn thing unless forced, including for school. So put that in your pipe and smoke it. I’m pro vax and pro mask but enough is enough.

If you have symptoms you need to get a covid test, duh.

Any unusual respiratory symptoms in my family, you have to get a test. So far we have all had to test for colds etc. I tested for scratchy throat yesterday. I (vaccinated) suspected allergies but don’t want to be anxious about spreading covid, so I went and got PCR test at Kaiser. Had my negative results back by this morning.

That is people need to test, even if they think it is allergies.

If I follow your advice I would have to test weekly.

Yes, so?

OP, why didn’t you get tested right away?

People have gone bananas, seriously. Will we soon be tattooing a scarlet “C” on folks who test positive for Covid? Like it’s some horrific moral failing?
Folks, it’s a global pandemic. Do your best, but live your life!

DP here. Not gonna happen. Thankfully my kids don’t run fevers and the school symptom checker asks about “new symptoms not attributable to another condition.” So I just click no to that. I’m not testing for super mild symptoms because the symptom checker also asks if you have a Covid test pending and saying yes excludes you from school. Lots of reasons not to test for mild symptoms.

I am vaccinated and I take a lot of precautions, including masking indoor, so no, I am not testing weekly because you think that is what people should do.
