My very bad “allergies” was Breakthrough Covid the whole time and I feel horrible about it.

I gave my daughter an at home test a few days ago since she had a fever and vomiting. It was *so* easy, and relatively affordable.

Definitely going to stock up on a few of these to have on hand. Yes, I know they're not 100%. But, if I get a cold, it's 15 minutes to have at least some mild peace of mind. I think if you're vaccinated and test negative, it's *possible* you could be positive but it's also much more likely that you're negative and can carry on as normal.

+1. At some point it’s the most at risk people that need to protect themselves. They need to stay at home, avoid crowds and indoor places. We can’t hide for ever. If you are at risk, wear your masks, don’t meet up with friends, etc.
I have no pre existing condition and I don’t really know anyone that does (perhaps not aware)…

I tend to agree with this. And yes I am pro-vax, but putting the burdon on everyone, endlessly, helps no one.

And I certainly hope <12 kids can get their shots soon, and hope their families do what they need to protect themselves. But the rest of us should be allowed to go on.

You realize that this is nearly impossible for us families with kids <12, if the rest of the world chooses to just "go on" without making any efforts to help? Workplaces going back in unmasked. Stores being totally unmasked. Many fewer accommodations to WFH with kids. If there were generally a higher level of masking, with otherwise things being open, everyone would be much safer.

This post reads like someone wanted to start yet another thread to "wear your mask!" and invented a story to get the ball rolling. I've had my family tested numerous times for coughs and sniffles and its never been Covid. There are still other viruses out there. Sorry, just not buying this one.

Ignore. You were contagious 2days before symptoms and for 10 after onset.

Why is OP calling their symptoms "extremely mild"? It's fear mongering. Did you know some times "extremely" mild actually is just a headache for some people? You didn't have an extremely mild case, call it what it is.

Stores aren't really transmission places - it's private gatherings, overwhelmingly.

As parents you can protect yourselves by wearing a kn95 mask + shield, at work, when you go out, or at home if you want to. You have some limited choices, but you still have choices like the rest of us.

It's been exhausting trying to constantly accommodate others for the past year and a half. I know it's exhausting for everyone, but look, we've tried for so long. I'm over masks anywhere it's allowed.

That is not correct.

But OP still doesn't need to feel bad. OP is correct to advise everyone to wear masks.

OP, thanks for getting the word out, you are right to be concerned, but there is nothing you can do about it now, except what you did by posting.

HUGS to you. All of this sucks.

Oh wow, you are just so smart and perceptive. "I don't have covid, so someone else doesn't either. They must be making that up."

1+. "This may lead to policies I don't like so it must be a lie."

Conversely, my son's very bad allergies are allergies. We went and received a Covid test though, and the doctor said she's had a lot recent of negative Covid tests that turn out to be colds or allergies. She still recommends testing (and vaccination) if there is a question.

So you admit to knowing this is a troll. You want to talk about policies so just do that without the BS.

God this is such a selfish point of view. The immunocomprised should just continue to live like hermits so the rest of us can go back to "normal"? The more the rest of the world does go back to normal, the harder it becomes for the immunocomprosed to stay safe. Eff you.

DP, but I find your attitude profoundly selfish - expecting the rest of the world to accommodate you, and to care more about your health than you. Only you can protect you. You can live a pretty normal life if you wear a kn95 anywhere.

The immunocompromised are probably not going to have a safe world for a while. It's unfortunate, but it is what it is. I say this as someone with an immunocompromised family member. We don't make policies for 3-5% of the population.

How long should children miss out on their educations, social lives, activities to accommodate people who have already had their lives? Maybe PP should think about children or people other than herself for once. She can stay home but wants to shop in Target without all those pesky dirty children around. The irony of the selfish calling others selfish.
