PSA - NMS PSAT cutoffs for class of 2022.

Alternate entry scores are only calculated to 38, correct? So a 39 or 40 would only be counted as 38? My Blair student got 38, 38, 34 on their first SAT and 38, 38, 37 on the second - which one would be used? The first, or the most recent? Fingers crossed they use the higher one.

They will use the highest. Sounds like there are going to be even more NMSF from Blair than usual! Wonder how the school normally notifies students.

My kid thought they only use the first once the alternate entry is submitted. But, we don't know for certain. Also, hoping they use the highest!

Anonymous wrote:Congrats to your son! May I ask which state/county? My child is at Blair, and we haven't heard anything yet - or maybe DC just didn't make the cut, although he did get a 1520 and submitted via alternate entry, so I was hopeful.

My DS is also at Blair and we also haven’t heard anything. I think his selection index (which is what is used) was 223.

Mine is also at Blair. Alternate entry w/ 1530. (37, 37, 39.8). This should make the cut off w/ a 224, right? [insert praying hands emoji -- hahaha] Hoping to hear soon!

Yes! Your calculation is correct (to my knowledge) and will definitely qualify at 224! Congrats!

Huzzah! Thank you!!!! Now, let's just hope she submitted the alternate entry form correctly.

Is it possible that the schools submitted alternate entries, or did it have to be done by the student? My child has a 1560 (MoCo) but hasn't heard anything. We didn't learn about alternate entry until this summer.

Did she send both to NMSC? If so they use the highest.

NMSC said the alternate entry needed to come from the student.

DC has a SI of 220. With the lower commendation bar, hoping the VA SI has dropped this year

Someone on Compass Prep says that their son was notified of NMSF with a 221.

Meant to say in VA. Still no news about MD.

Would it be inappropriate to ask school counselor?

How did your kids know to submit their SAT scores? My fairly tuned in kid never heard anything about this until this summer. From the school? From College Board?
