Yes! My HS'er was notified yesterday by the principal! Not sure what cutoff is, but he had a 1560 SAT via alternate entry, fwiw

Congrats! I think I saw your child posting about it on some other forums

Anyone in VA know the cutoff yet?

I think I read 219 for VA. Look on the Compass Prep blog.

Congrats to your son! My DS had the same SAT score but we didn't find out about the alternate entry until it was too late. You live and you learn 😀

Congrats to your son! May I ask which state/county? My child is at Blair, and we haven't heard anything yet - or maybe DC just didn't make the cut, although he did get a 1520 and submitted via alternate entry, so I was hopeful.

Has Sidwell notified semifinalists yet? My DC has a very high selection index on the psat, and I am somewhat surprised that we have not heard anything. Given that the school is sort of low key about awards/recognition, is it possible they don’t even notify students?

Compass isn't listing VA.

My DS is also at Blair and we also haven’t heard anything. I think his selection index (which is what is used) was 223.

He is at a MCPS HS! Tthe letter arrived at the HS at the beginning of last week. Given the number of NMSF from Blair each year, the principal should definitely be aware of it. Maybe she is waiting until the official press release to notify the students (although she should tell them before that). Then again, it could just be the sheer number of SF and having to print out each of their letters but hopefully Johnson will tell them soon as a 223+ should definitely qualify!

Mine is also at Blair. Alternate entry w/ 1530. (37, 37, 39.8). This should make the cut off w/ a 224, right? [insert praying hands emoji -- hahaha] Hoping to hear soon!

Maybe wait until at least the first day of school?

Is this based on PSAT or SAT?

Called him down to the principal's office.

Yes! Your calculation is correct (to my knowledge) and will definitely qualify at 224! Congrats!
