This is a parent who gets it.

It is a league championship not a national championship.

Exactly. If they win, they will be GAL champions.

Very different from being ECNL champions…which they never have been.

Who cares its a local team in a national competition. why not support them as they rep our area in whatever championship is. whether its u9 boys or u23 girls if they are a GA team or an ODSL team support them as they take on teams from outside the DMV. See the bigger picture.

Tell us the bigger picture.

Thebigger picture is reguarless of club every successful team is good for the entire area. Its fine to have local rivals. It helps to push everyone to raise their games higher. Ut also helps to support your rivals when they play teams from out of your area. The bigger goal is to have the DMV to be known as a hotbed for soccer talent and programs. Once you get to that level even the secondary talent (like mos of your players are) will be sought after more than the top players in other areas of the country. But all of this crabs in a bucket mentality is doing is keeping us from creating something big here that everyone can benefit from.

This is so dumb. A hot bed for what? For people to move here? Who cares if we are a hotbed or not? ONE aging out team winning a league championship will not change the face of DMV soccer, because it can’t.

You still dont get it do you. If you took the top 3 off of FCV only the top 3 and had a team with only players of their level and above made from the dozens of clubs we have in the area We would have a few super competitive teams in the nation. Instead we have a bunch of 2 and 3rd tier teams fighting each other as to who's the top team in the DMV. Missing the bigger picture of pulling the A list players together to make 2-3 top clubs from Fredericksburg to Baltimore . A lot of parents wold get the reality on how average their child really is but the overall quality of the few top teams would soar. Too many parents write a check to a club that tells them their kid is elite.

Get off your soap box. You’re detached from reality and lack historical understanding.
