This is a parent who gets it.

It is a league championship not a national championship.

Exactly. If they win, they will be GAL champions.

Very different from being ECNL champions…which they never have been.

Who cares its a local team in a national competition. why not support them as they rep our area in whatever championship is. whether its u9 boys or u23 girls if they are a GA team or an ODSL team support them as they take on teams from outside the DMV. See the bigger picture.

Tell us the bigger picture.

Thebigger picture is reguarless of club every successful team is good for the entire area. Its fine to have local rivals. It helps to push everyone to raise their games higher. Ut also helps to support your rivals when they play teams from out of your area. The bigger goal is to have the DMV to be known as a hotbed for soccer talent and programs. Once you get to that level even the secondary talent (like mos of your players are) will be sought after more than the top players in other areas of the country. But all of this crabs in a bucket mentality is doing is keeping us from creating something big here that everyone can benefit from.

What in the world are you talking about. This is absolute and utter non-sense.

The “rising tide lifts all ships” mentality is not applicable.

FCV winning a league title does absolutely nothing for anyone other than FCV. Nada. Zilch.

You wish your child's team was good enough to win a league title.

And right there is why nobody is cheering for FCV unless you are from FCV...the poster starts talking about us all being in this together stuff like “it’s good for the entire area” and then slips in the predictable arrogant FCV parent comment “once you get to that level even the secondary talent (like mos of your players are)”

I think the PP meant is that most players in the entire area including FCV are 2nd tier because the top 100 are on the many teams out there. If we had less teams the top teams would be more competitive.

The PP you are referencing is wrong and your interpretation of what he was saying is wrong.

Now back to the subject matter at hand

This is so dumb. A hot bed for what? For people to move here? Who cares if we are a hotbed or not? ONE aging out team winning a league championship will not change the face of DMV soccer, because it can’t.

As if FCV has ever cheered for anyone in this area. LOL. People hope they lose for good reason.

You seem to care a lot, talking about changing the face of dmv soccer.
