Are you one of them?

Where did you meet these friends? College? Grow up together? At work? I'm wondering what i the common denominator. I'm also in my 40s and higher income level (lawyers) and I don't know anyone doing this.
And what are the demographics of their wives? Equivalent education and income level to your friends? I just can't imagine in my social circles the wives not noticing a substantial financial outlay.

Some I've know for years, some more recent. Eveyone in my circle is college educated and usually a masters. Wives tend to be career types also.

When you have a high HHI, no one is noticing $1-2k every month. Besides, you usually have a bunch of different accounts and credit cards at that level. No one has time to dig through all that.

$1-2k a month? That’s it?!?

Remember college girls aren't doing it for a living. Your typical GW student (GW is #1 in the DC area in terms of % of undergrads who do this) has all her tuition and room and board covered by her parents. This is fun money to buy fancy clothes, and also just fun to go out with someone mature and wealthy.

Umm just get a real job, then. You can’t find a job that will pay you $250 a week? Willing to lose your dignity and have sex with an old guy... eww. I was poor in college and worked my way through an Ivy. No way would I consider $1-2k a month to have sex with a guy in his 40s. No one I knew would have done it either. Just yuck.

Never sugared in my life but say the sugar is taking in $2K/month from some schmuck. She's probably meeting with him, at most, 4-5 times a month at a rate of 2-3 hours a week.

For that same amount of money you want her to go work at Starbucks for 35 hours a week and be yelled at by moms in strollers whose iced venti double macchiato had too many iced cubes?

Please.

They could get an Ashley Madison married mom to bang them for free 4-5 times per month.

One in Southern Maryland on the water and one in the Shenandoah Valley in the mountains. I can easily pay $5k to $10k a month for a young attractive girl. But, in the end it's the same as dating. Sugar daddy and dating are the same. It's just one is PREDEFINED by money.

Blah.

That’s what my husband makes ($400-500k) and I make $200k so $700k HHI. We own 3 homes outright. I would notice if he wasted our $ on some whore.

+1 or tinder

For a lot, if not all, of these dudes, it's a control thing and an ego thing. Wife doesn't care for them, but a young woman will sleep with them for the right price. Sick. Probably an overlap with the MAMIL crowd.

I dabbled in this for a short time. My observation: there are way WAY more willing girls than men willing to pay for them. The cute college girls are 5k a month and in super high demand. That gets you a date or two a week. When you want to break up it's usually the girl who is more upset.

Our HHI is 1 million. I would notice $5-$10k easily

To complete the story, she was working full time and going to school full time. The sugaring let her quit her job and focus on school. Her words, 3 hours with me which she enjoyed vs 32 hours a week at a job she hated.

Going rate for “board meetings” is $1500 a meeting in DC. Meeting up 5x a month is $90K year side job.

This isn't much different from dating. The women choose who they will date, but they get paid for it too. The women are adults and no one is forcing them do to this. Let them make the own decisions.

And just like with dating, the men happily exchange $$ which they don’t need for sex which they do.

Anonymous wrote:I realize this is s/o, but aren’t the cash and gifts taxable to the recipient? Highly doubt they think about such things beforehand. It would be funny if the IRS started inquiring and busted some of these arrangements lol.

The IRS doesn't inquire into CashApp and Venmo transactions.

If you're in shape with a cool job, it's pretty easy to just get a GF that age from the apps. You're still paying for it: dinners, travel, events, etc. and no one has any illusions it will last.

Covid has been a boon because I've focused on hikes and evenings at my house, but that's an anomaly.

One thing with having it be explicitly sugar: the woman has all the power and will eventually be the one to move on. There's always been a next one, but at some point I know I'll be too old. Hopefully by then my libido will have died.

This would be a destructive very unequal power dynamic for most of the college 18 and 19 year olds I know. Or think I know. They are not particularly mature at all.

This is straight up prostitution with sleezyy 50 year old affluent males and poor much much younger females that could be their children. WTF?

Dating is legal, prostitution is not.
