Relationship Discussion (non-explicit)
| The whole Matt Gaetz story has me wondering, minus the underage/sex trafficking part, is being a sugar daddy common for men in the DCUM crowd? This crowd tends to be wealthier than most forums, so just curious. It's rarely brought up though. And if you do it or know someone who does, why? I'm always so surprised when they say how many people are on that one site, but I'm sure there's lots of scammers. |

Oh, you got me to click. I did because I was cooking this morning and ended up with an extra spoonful of granulated sugar that I didn't want to put back into the bin, because it might have a tiny bit of flour in it. I just popped that heaping teaspoon into my mouth. Wow. So delicious. Such a fun childhood memory.
I absolutely recommend it if you haven't done it for a while. As to your topic; I have never known anyone involved in such an arrangement. No one I associate with has the money to do it. I assume it is a rich person/TV thing. |
I thought it was about Domino sugar too. Disappointed. |
| My college-age daughter has a friend who is a sugar baby. I find it astonishing from every angle. |
I thought it was a spin off on the fruit has too much sugar and the fiber disappears when you blend it thread.
|
| My wealthyish 40s single friend did it a few times. He was a gentleman and took them to dinner, paid for a hotel, but said it was just not worth the money. Sometimes they showed up dressed like high end escorts, and it was embarrassing to be in public with them. An average looking middle age guy might want a beautiful companion, but you don't want everyone near you to assume it is an arrangement. |

The problem here in DC is that the women are just as educated as the men. Catches them off guard. |

MAN, I thought this was gonna be a thread about the people who don't let their kids eat sugar.
Was gonna reply with: "Well, we make north of 300K and have BMIs of 18, 20, and 21, and have a steady stream of Coke products, Ding Dongs, and Twizzlers in the house. Get in, losers." |
| I don’t know if it’s common, but I sugared with several very very HHI men in DC. One was a highly sought political consultant, one was head of a small pharma company, one owned an IT services firm. |
Wait, what is the deal with that picture? Is it an outtake someone sent them to be mean? Like they contacted his office for a photo and his assistant was like, this one? |
I thought it was going to be about whether rich people in DC call their partners the nickname, “sugar.” Sounds like something an old timey Southern rich man would do. |
I hope you got more than $400! |
| Given the demographics of people who post on this site, your are not likely to get a straight answer to your question. I can tell you that this topic is intensely debated on forums that cater to men. The short answer is, yes, a lot of men seek out sugar, and are willing to pay big bucks for a "unicorn": a young college freshman just interested in making a tuition payment or buying some clothes. One who is NOT a hooker/drug addict/pimped out. |

Definitely a thing around here.
Lots of men with higher up careers, good money, and big egos. Along with many universities and entry level graduates that want networks and money. It’s the perfect combo for ‘sugaring’. |
| My h worked in the hill in the 90’s and yes being a sugar daddy and paying for a girlfriend’s apartment was common. |
