My politics contradict my sexual preferences

Alex, I’ll take upper-middle-class navel gazing for $2000, please.

I agree.

Yeah my DH is very masculine and Liberal. This was written by a Conservative troll who wants to promote the idea that all Liberal men are "weak" or "beta" etc.

Bingo.

You can't argue that John Fetterman isn't traditionally masculine, or Robert De Niro, or Michael Jordan. Or the few dozen men I work with, mostly quite leftist.

Yeah Chris Evans is pretty manly as well as George Clooney. Those two could give me the D....for Democrat of course 😏

It seems difficult.

I live in SF and there are plenty of men like you’re describing. They eat healthier here (generalization, I know), so there are definitely more plant based meals, but lots of guys aren’t full vegan. I’m shocked that this is relatively easy to find in the hippie/liberal/gay/vegan capitol of the world, but you’re having a hard time with it in the dmv. I guess that’s on me for assuming.

No, we just want you to stop trying to codify your personal preferences into law.

Oh, but you're fine codifying YOUR personal preferences into law? Just want to make sure that I'm clear on the ground rules.

I'm not a troll. I just don't live in D.C. I'm also not really into basic. I like interesting, eclectic men.

This. I don't understand your point OP. You describe like 75% of my friends. We are liberal but pretty gender normative and attracted to basically gender normative opposite sex people. I didn't realize that was strange. I thought this was going to be like my sister who is a lesbian but fiscally and somewhat socially conservative. That has been a bit of a mind eff for her.

I think what OP is touching on is going right over some people's heads...and that is this up-and-coming GenZ concept that you have to have some kind of identifiable category or -ism to define you or else you can't function or be categorized correctly.
It's just like the new gender ideology thing we're being fed. When I was growing up we were taught that a GIRL can do ANYTHING...she doesn't have to like pink or play with barbies or wear makeup! And this was...liberating! Like it was embraced as this freeing, wonderful revelation! Hooray! GIRL POWER means you don't have to conform to outdated pigeon-holed gender stereotypes! We're FREE!
But now, no no no...if a girl doesn't like pink or dresses or "girly things" like makeup or heels then she is gender-nonconforming or maybe she doesn't even IDENTIFY as a girl because she (gasp!) doesn't like "girly" things!...Presto-chang-o, she now must identify as a boy to embrace who she really is!

So OP is just following this line of thinking. And she doesn't know where she "fits" in the world of "you must conform to the identity of liberal politics by being attracted to a sensitive beta male" or you can't be in our liberal group anymore!

Weird. World gone mad.

What Liberal law will force YOU to do anything with your body that you don't want to? If you don't want to smoke pot or get married to a person of the same sex then great don't do it. See that old freedom of choice thing? We want public schools to be free from religion...you want religion in schools but only your religion.

You need to step away from Fox News. This is all in your head.

I think you are a very confused person. Do you honestly walk around believing that being liberal means you have to be open to dating trans men or something? You sound naive and weird.

I know. That was me. I'm the one who said it's difficult to find a progressive man who isn't into that list of woo things. I'm not a troll. I just don't live in D.C.
