Nest level lacrosse: girls

Given how poorly BLC has handled the last 6 months, it seems more likely parents should choose NL or another option.

How have they handled it poorly? They have provided great communication, a credit from last season and are finding practice fields even though Bullis will not give them access. What has been done poorly? I am genuinely curious.

That almost the entire team of 2027 boys, and a slew of others in the 28's left speaks loudly. The complaints from those families are the exact opposite of what you are saying. They complained the communication they received was lacking and if teams wanted to work out than finding fields and games would be up to them and not club sponsored by BLC. Tournament participation was the same thing. It was up to the team essentially creating mini clubs within BLC. The director's primary job is to find and hold fields and then build around that.

Girls side did not have those issues I guess

They are 5-0 in the NGLL B Bracket. I haven't seen them play, but that's at least promising.

There are some factually and obviously false statements in here. Particularly the one about roster size. I think only the NL 2027s have a large roster and while I admittedly don’t know the details, my suspicion is that they picked up a lot of kids leaving MC. But I am also growing increasingly skeptical with this comparison where NL is inferior to BLC. Just looking at fall results, and considering that BLC currently terminates at 2025, I would need someone to point to me where they are objectively dominant over NL. They have one obviously good team, but even the much vaunted BLC 2027 seems to have dropped a level. After that, some years BLC might be better but others NL are better.

Does NL go through high school for girls?

I just checked the website and yes apparently they do go through high school for girls. Any insight on the high school program in comparison to MC, Capital or Pride? I would imagine it is not as strong of a program? But are they building it? What is the plan going forward?

How does BLC compare to NL at 2028 and where can you find the records of the respective teams? Thx.

You can't really compare them based on spring records because they didn't play head to head. BLC is 0-5 in the "A" bracket, but I am sure they would not have that bad of a record in the B bracket. NL would also not be 5-0 if they were up in the "A" bracket. The bottom teams in the B bracket aren't much better than a rec team and that makes up 3 of their wins. You can see the brackets and scores on the NGLL website, the VA and MD teams compete in the Midatlantic Region.

Tough to say. BLC is 0-5 in the A bracket. All records from all divisions are here:

The top 5 teams all have 5 wins currently, and I think are all competitive with each other with similar talent levels. I think if they all played each other 10 times they would trade wins and loses regularly. Those have all been good match-ups. NL doesn't play heros ( also with 5 wins but currently 2nd) , and hasn't played coppermine yet (5 wins but in 3rd). It is unfortunate that they couldn't have split the B league even further, the top 6 teams didn't get to play everyone else in the top 6 and missed out on some good competition.

HS Program is very weak. Kids typically leave for established programs with a good recruiting history.

Do programs pick the divisions they are in or are they placed there by the NGLL?

Programs pick, from my understanding.

There was a previous post from a BLC parent asking that earlier, because it is clear they would have been a much better fit for the B division and the poor parents and players have been treking all over the state to lose every weekend.
