What do people think of Einstein?

OP (if you’re still here)- we have a rising senior who’s loved Einstein. In the VAC, on a sports team, has school spirit and goes to the games etc, has a nice group of friends. She rejected the intense IB cohort but is in those classes and does fine. Science has been across the board awful. Math is a mixed bag. History and English and music and art are great. Nice parent community. Kids go to good schools after. Kids are friends across socioeconomic and ethnic lines, which is so great (if your friend spends her weekends helping her mom clean houses, it puts your desire for a beach weekend/IPhone 11 etc into perspective without me saying a word). Overall we’ve been v happy there, but probably wouldn’t send a math science loving kid there if I could lottery elsewhere. HTH.

If you want real info on Einstein or other DCC schools, or the neighborhoods that feed into them for that matter, DCUM is not the place to look. Mostly just a lot of outside looking in and assumptions here.

FWIW, the neighborhoods that feed into Einstein are a mix of professional and working class. I have heard only good things about the school.

There are many of us Einstein/DCC parents here on DCUM. We try to give our first-hand perspectives whenever we can. You just need to sift through the threads to find the helpful nuggets from people who have experience in the schools and neighborhoods.

For Science, Chugh, Varner, and Dr. Wissman are excellent. It would not be polite to name teachers not up to their standards. I think that science departments are suffering everywhere, but Einstein still has several gems.

Honest Question. Why should we trust someone who is incentivized to rationalize why they send their kids so such a lowly rated school? Do you know much about the better schools ?

The kids in my neighborhood who recently graduated from Einstein are going to selective liberal arts colleges and places like USC and Georgetown. We make over 400k, have a child starting there this fall, and we are not worried.

Define better? Families who think they are rich who over spent on their house. Schools that send out their special needs kids for higher ratings. Schools that only really focus on the high achieving kids and average or struggling kids get ignored. I went to one of those schools. Don't want my kids there.
