In a brief but heated exchange, which was overheard by a reporter, Yoho told Ocasio-Cortez she was "disgusting" for recently suggesting that poverty and unemployment are driving a spike in crime in New York City during the coronavirus pandemic.

"You are out of your freaking mind," Yoho told her.

Ocasio-Cortez shot back, telling Yoho he was being "rude."

The two then parted ways. Ocasio-Cortez headed into the building, while Yoho, joined by Rep. Roger Williams (R-Texas), began descending toward the House office buildings. A few steps down, Yoho offered a parting thought to no one in particular.

"F****** bitch," he said.

Well doesn't that put a nice cap on this discussion.

He was *alleged* to have said that. This is the statement from his office:

Yoho's communications director told CNN in a statement that the congressman "had a brief member to member conversation on the steps of the Capitol. As you know, these conversations happen frequently when the House is in session."
"He did not call Rep. Ocasio-Cortez what has been reported in the Hill or any name for that matter. It sounds better for the Hill newspaper and gets more media attention to say he called her a name - which he did not do. It is unfortunate that Rep. Ocasio-Cortez is using this exchange to gain personal attention," the spokesman said.

From that same article

“ Yoho's office denies that he made the comment, telling CNN in a statement that he "made a brief comment to himself as he walked away summarizing what he believes her policies to be: bullshit."

We are at the “He was misheard/what he meant to say” evolution of this story.

Yoho has “apologized,” though.

Is this Rep a MRA who has particular hatred toward successful Latinas? Where have we heard this before? Hmmm

Sounds like he needs a mental health check before he goes on a killing spree.

I guess the statement by his spokesman is no longer operative.

God made that mouth but he didn't put those words in it.

None of this latest episode is surprising, except for the reaction of Matt Gaetz, who stood up for her.

"I can confirm that AOC gets along w many of her Republican colleagues on a range of things that don’t have anything to do w legislation or politics.

She is not a bitch."

By repeating the offensive wide-ranging he is sending dog whistles. People get in trouble for being against News + blacks, but it is still o.k. To call women ( more than half the population) that awful word. No one ever loses their job over it.

Do you really think any Democrat would have cared about his ranting if Trump was a freshman rep from NY? Geez, you guys are crazy, if you do not see the difference.

Exactly. Ol' DUI Gaetz is in big ethics trouble today - and nary a peep here, because WHO CARES. He's not the GD president.

What the heck "were never spoken to my colleagues" mean? I am guessing, he said those word, but is claiming, he said it to himself and hence does not matter!

Congress is full of people that shoot their mouth off without anything to back them up. Why she comes in for extra scrutiny is the question.

Because the media focuses on her more which gives her a higher profile and more blowback. If the media didn’t fetishize her for clicks nobody would pay attention to her.

No. "The media" didn't post the video of her dancing around in her college days like it was some sort of indictment of her. "The media" didn't attack her on the Capitol steps - a fellow House member did, in full view of the media. And then he called her an f-ing b-word because she had the audacity to have a different opinion.

Conservatives hate her because if anything they stood for was realistic or true, she'd be the poster child for conservatism. She was raised in relatively humble circumstances and had a "real American" job as a bartender before living the American Dream and being elected to Congress through plain hard work. And yet, she's a Progressive Democrat.

Beto O'Rourke Is basically the male version of her and you don’t see the same weird obsessions.

Beto doesn’t give “rage boners” to conservative men

The conservative ecosystem really knows how to trigger the primal depths of the male Brian
