Why do Republicans fetishize AOC?

AOC is a proxy for every hot girl who rejected them in high school. The fact that she has a microphone and a following ignites a fury in men that will never be commensurate with the relatively little power she actually has.

Get used to it. Whether it is AOC or someone else, the Republicans will target the Left. If Trump is gone soon, there will no longer be the air cover for all the unpopular Lefty ideas and talking points - defund the police, white privilege etc..

Lefty ideas:
Defund the police - translation, reduce the burden on actual police by shifting certain calls to other professionals, and shift corresponding monies accordingly.
White Privilege - the idea that there is ingrained racism in our society that needs to be eliminated before our country can truly realize its potential for all of humankind

Having said that, given how so many Dems signed on to the GND after she promoted it - perhaps she does have some power.

And, Joe is no centrist, folks. He was at one time, but he has veered far left. Even the WaPo recognizes this.

And, one more thing - if you want to see an AOC obsession, check out The Hill's twitter feed. Now, THAT is obsession.

I don’t understand why Republicans don’t see that giving her more attention only gives her more power.
Look at Trump. When all those Republican candidates announced their candidacy in 2016 nobody took Trump seriously at first.
Most of the initial focus was on Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio. It wasn’t until the audacious antics and tweets from Trump started capturing headlines every single day that most people actually gave him some serious thought.
The more Republicans obsess over AOC and make her a celebrity the more influence they give her.
Americans love celebrities. Look who we elected president.

Except she isn't the President. She's just a rep, one of 435 of them. Her powers are extremely limited.

You’re comparing the POTUS - the single most powerful person in the world - with a freshman Congress Rep from NYC.

Democrats are not obsessed with Trump. Democrats want to restore what is left of our country before Trump totally and irrevocably destroys it.
