Why do Republicans fetishize AOC?

The bolded is the definitive answer.

AOC is a hot prodigy. AOC is Mozart. Apart from DJT, the GOP is Salieri.

She strikes me as immature and needlessly dramatic, with some nutty ideas. I’m a democrat. She was elected by her district, not mine.

Same; however, I don’t fetishize her like the crazy GOP. Their obsession with her is other-level.

Congress is full of people that shoot their mouth off without anything to back them up. Why she comes in for extra scrutiny is the question.

Because the media focuses on her more which gives her a higher profile and more blowback. If the media didn’t fetishize her for clicks nobody would pay attention to her.

Me, too. But there are plemty of other members of congress who also seem immature, dramatic, amd nutty. Yet we hardly hear about them, while AOC gets 99% of the attention. Why is that?

Fox News and OAN, maybe. I hardly ever see her mentioned on MSNBC.

Republicans hate who Fox News tells them to hate.

It is. Since she’s not my rep, and I don’t pay attention to what she says.

The old R white men are like incel gamers on Reddit. They correctly feel preemptively bested and rejected by her, which enrages them. They are also intellectually insecure about her. She represents the existential threat to the future of the dying R party. So this also enrages them and causes them to tantrum and lash out.

This.

Young, female, Latina, socialist and attention grabbing. Who could scare them more about the future?

Anonymous wrote:AOC is everything that triggers Republicans:

1. A woman
2. Of Latin heritage
3. Who speaks her mind

They are absolutelyup in arms because in their world, they are supposed to be able to shut her up with a single look. It's driving them crazy that she's sitting in the House of Representatives rather than waiting tables at Chili's.

Agreed with this and also extends (#2 adjusted for different ethnicity) to Omar, Tlaib, and Pressely.

Maybe also a bit of "why can't we have something like that"? I recall seeing a conservative squad on Fox & Friends as their counterpoint.

Exactly. Women like her shouldn’t be in the government.

She's hot and occasionally sticks her foot in her mouth. Sort of like how Sarah Palin did the same back in 2008.

(I will say that AOC is smarter than Palin, though.)

It's hard to believe she has a degree in economics given her statements and policy stances.
She's an idiot. Truly. She thinks she has more power than she probably has given the media's obsession with her following her election.
Having said that, given how so many Dems signed on to the GND after she promoted it - perhaps she does have some power.

And, Joe is no centrist, folks. He was at one time, but he has veered far left. Even the WaPo recognizes this.

And, one more thing - if you want to see an AOC obsession, check out The Hill's twitter feed. Now, THAT is obsession.
