YES. I have never found Chris Elliot funny and that held true with this. The other actors end the show in general was enjoyable enough that I blocked him out.

I’m a HUGE SC fan but I usually fast forward through some of his scenes. He’s terrible at acting and his character is awful.

NP.

Isn’t that the genius of it though? EVERY. SINGLE. roll CE has ever had has been this terrible character, with terrible acting? It’s so ironic and low key while playing into the theme of the show of being over top? “Chris Elliot cannot ever be anything other than this bad actor/weird character. So let’s build him into the biggest version of himself/pigeon holed actor.”

That’s my take anyways. I leave it to you wise women to consider.

I don't want it to end, but I'm so grateful they gave us this half dozen beautiful years.

Same!!!!!! I even looked up places like Stars Hollow to visit this fall. We aren’t going, of course, but I had the idea of trying to stay in a B&B or renting an RV. And I’ve loved Schitt’s Creek for 6 yesrs!! Moira is my spirit animal.

When does it pick up steam and why does it get better? I'm thinking about giving it another try since so many people really like it.

They’re in their late 20s/early 30s. I don’t think they’re hard to believe.

It picks up steam when the stories become less about the ‘fish out of water’ premise and more about their lives as part of the town. There are some really touching moments between the children and the parents and the children’s relationships.

Most 30 year olds aren't still living at home with their parents and have zero life experience. That part was far fetched and I couldn't get past it. I just didn't find the premise amusing with such old "kids" even though I like all the actors and wanted to like the show.

Spoiler Alert - but if you watch far enough, you'll learn that David owned an art gallery in New York and had his own apartment there, which the parents funded (in fact Moira discloses at one point that she and Johnny were the ones buying all the art at his gallery!). And Alexa basically travelled the world with the young jet set, again, funded by the parents. So when they lost everything, the kids lost their lavish lifestyles as well and ended up with their parents at the motel.

But what about Ted? 😔

I'm watching now. I can't stand how Alexis holds her hands. Like a TRex.

I know! I thought the last season was sweeter and not as funny as previous seasons, but still wonderful - especially for the series end. I understand that having Alexis find herself and be independent of any man is great, but I wish they'd had a happier ending for Ted and Alexis. In the after interviews they had for each episode on Pop TV, it seemed like the actress who played Alexis felt the same way.

Agreed.

It’s so bizarre that anyone would prioritize a job over love.

He could have shown up at the wedding and told Alexis he wanted to follow her to nyc to support her pursuing her dream.

People prioritize jobs all the time, especially for very unique assignments. My now husband I spent two years apart, and sometimes you don’t really have a choice.

But Ted was a super nice guy who pined for her Alexis when they broke up. He went to the Galapagos for a while and had his fun. They easily could have given Alexis and Ted a “happy ending” by bringing him back for the wedding, proposing, and following her to NYC. Heck, there could have been a cool “fish out of water” spin-off in nyc with the two of them.
