I know! I thought the last season was sweeter and not as funny as previous seasons, but still wonderful - especially for the series end. I understand that having Alexis find herself and be independent of any man is great, but I wish they'd had a happier ending for Ted and Alexis. In the after interviews they had for each episode on Pop TV, it seemed like the actress who played Alexis felt the same way.

Agreed.

It’s so bizarre that anyone would prioritize a job over love.

He could have shown up at the wedding and told Alexis he wanted to follow her to nyc to support her pursuing her dream.

People prioritize jobs all the time, especially for very unique assignments. My now husband I spent two years apart, and sometimes you don’t really have a choice.

But Ted was a super nice guy who pined for her Alexis when they broke up. He went to the Galapagos for a while and had his fun. They easily could have given Alexis and Ted a “happy ending” by bringing him back for the wedding, proposing, and following her to NYC. Heck, there could have been a cool “fish out of water” spin-off in nyc with the two of them.

Considering how much Ted and Alexis had been through and loved each other, 3 years doesn't seem insurmountable. Especially since the other characters got fairy tale endings.

I always got the feeling Alexis loved Ted, but wasn't IN LOVE with him

Loved the Ted and Alexis ending. Sometimes love isn’t enough, timing and circumstances play their part. Alexis wasn’t ready to follow him around, nor should she have to. She has options and needs to start her independent adult life.

Nobody suggested she should follow him. It would have been easy for them to bring Ted back for the finale to propose and follow her to nyc.

Now that I think about it, I think it’s selfish of Daniel Levy to not give Alexis a happy ending. He clearly wanted the limelight. He gave his real life sister (the actress who played Twyla) a randomly unnecessary happy ending.

Shrug. I think Alexis did get a happy ending.

There’s a SC documentary on Netflix and it’s super cute!

PP here and watch the documentary. They talk about Alexis and that scene. Everyone was crying while they filmed it. It WAS a happy ending.

We started watching this yesterday and are approaching season 3. I am obsessed and I usually hate sitcoms.

But they just didn't love each other like that. They were deeply affectionate, had great sex - and wanted different things. I think they had the exact right happy ending for their characters.

I never really believed their relationship. Didn’t seem very “real”.

Yeah - I believed their relationship but it didn't seem like a forever relationship. It seemed like a mix of lust and companionship, and helping each other evolve and grow. But then that sent them in different paths.

Also Ted got really hot around season 3 (I think? Matbe 4) and so I believe the lust part.

Just started watching this show. I keep getting super distracted by Alexis’ teeth and wondering why, if they were so rich, she didn’t have braces?

Get over yourself. It’s only America that’s truly obsessed with straight, white teeth. She’s Canadian and her family is Canadian.

Annie Murphy is stinking gorgeous and super talented. Your distraction is unwarranted.

Want straight white teeth? Go watch American TV.

Goodness, of course the actress is gorgeous and talented. I’m referring to how we’re supposed to think of the character Alexis at the beginning - that she’s shallow and appearance-focused and as a teenager would have cared about things like having her teeth straightened, as every other teenager in her socioeconomic set was also doing, Canadian or American. I’m not talking about real life, I’m saying it slightly disrupts my suspension of disbelief in watching the show. Which I just started season 2 of, so still have a lot left to watch, but I’m really enjoying it.

I’m watching the series for the first time. I’m almost done with season 3. It’s kind of tiresome. It’s the same thing over and over:

Some kind of discussion that sounds like people are talking about sex.

Alexis misunderstanding something and acting dumb.

The son (who I really liked initially as an actor) is the same old, same old.
