Me too, except I gave it 5 episodes.

It's fine but nothing extraordinary or really interesting.

We couldn't even make it through the first episode. Didn't get a single laugh out of us...

Definitely don’t judge it by the first episode. It takes a while to get going. I only started watching it because my DH was watching it and I got into the story in the later seasons.

When does it pick up steam and why does it get better? I'm thinking about giving it another try since so many people really like it.

Of course they’re too old. It’s part of the comedy.

They’re in their late 20s/early 30s. I don’t think they’re hard to believe.

It picks up steam when the stories become less about the ‘fish out of water’ premise and more about their lives as part of the town. There are some really touching moments between the children and the parents and the children’s relationships.

I hope I don’t know you in real life.

Most 30 year olds aren't still living at home with their parents and have zero life experience. That part was far fetched and I couldn't get past it. I just didn't find the premise amusing with such old "kids" even though I like all the actors and wanted to like the show.

I love the folks that say they watched x number if episodes and hated it. /s

I’m on that boat too, but know that I am obviously in the minority so will give it a few more episodes. I personally need something else to watch, and if so many others like it, I’m not *that* different that I’d be completely repulsed by it. (Other than GOT; i was lost by ep3 And canceled hbo)

So to the not-yet-into-it People like me, just think of a show that you loved, that got good reviews, and a few outliers told you they didn’t care for it. I just advised them “stick with it, it will pay off soon”. So I’m going to take my own advice And will watch episode 3 of SC this weekend..

Fingers crossed I’m singing it’s praises soon.

This last pp's post is so weird.

I’m that PP, basically what I was trying to say w/o being an arsehole:

“Why come into a thread and say you hated it. Op asked who else liked it. Give it a chance. ‘Everyone’ loves it, are you they different?! Anyway I’m more self aware than you so I’m at least going to try. Now take that!”

Even weirder.

The fact that they were too old is the point. They are shallow and vapid and living off the largesse of their parents and their characters and lives are enriched by moving to this town.

The point is they were super rich and useless. And co-dependent.

Here’s how much I disliked this show - I’ve tried twice to get through the first episode and just can’t. It is so unfunny. With that great cast, I really thought I’d be laughing out loud throughout. I may have snickered once.

A far funnier show is Life in Pieces. Every episode is full of laughs.

I found this to be a charming show despite a small budget.

If you don’t like it by episode 5, you don’t like it. Also fine.

I didn't really love the show until the last episode of season two. And even still would have liked a little less Chris Elliot. After watching the first couple episodes, if you don't like it, I recommend skipping ahead to season 2.

Discovered in March. Loved it!! Slow start some characters really are awful. But it grows on you.

I get the point. But Dan Levy is closer to 40 than 30 so it's just absurd. I couldn't get past about 2 episodes.

That’s fine everyone has different tastes but it’s funny that’s the thing you find absurd. Not that this family owns a town, lives in a motel, that Moira has a crazy accent and dresses like a vampire in wacky wigs, etc. The whole premise is absurd!
