Wow “Virgin River” is so bad! Like 1980’s Lifetime bad

I loved it. I can sit there and not think and be distracted by a Netflix hallmark quality film w/o thinking of the real world collapsing around us for a few minutes. Virgin river is just what I needed in month 9 of this pandemic.

You have to hate watch it with a bottle of wine. Just like those Christmas movies from hallmark. I don’t think real people enjoy them. The plot points are like something a 12 year old girl would write. Way to G rated and unrealistic.

I agree. It's the perfect watch for 2020. It's kind of like Gilmore Girls meets Northern Exposure. The scenery is so beautiful and escapist. Love it. And it's so basic in terms of plot that it requires very little thinking. You can totally drink wine, light a candle, relax and enjoy a little getaway in the comfort of your own home!

I agree. Sometimes you just need an easy-to-follow, G rated soap opera to relax at night. I love shows like Ozark and Breaking Bad but I need the opposite sometimes too.

I am on episode 9 and want to sucker punch Hope. What an annoying and grating character.

I do think the main Jack (there’s always a Jack!) and doc are both fine acting. And as another pp mentioned, I appreciate seeing actors playing their age, wrinkles and all.

It's based on a book series.

This show makes me want to throw up, a little bit. It's like the Lifetime shows my mom used to watch. Terrible. But, my wife and daughter like it, so...

I enjoyed You but it's very much like one very long Lifetime movie.

I tried to watch this show two or three times now, thought it would make a great treadmill show for me, but I just can't get into it.

I liked it. There was something really comforting about the show. I watched it while in bed healing from Covid around Christmas so maybe that had something to do with it.

Hope's acting was so very bad that I couldn't finish it. I did love the first season when I watched it in November or so, but by the time the second season came, I could no longer stomach it.

Season 3 will be released July 9: https://www.writerspace.com/author-news/news/3621/

I watched the first two seasons but can't remember how it ended or the "emotional cliffhanger." I felt annoyed with some of the characters just watching the season 3 trailer so I'm not sure if I'll watch or not.

I couldn't tell if it was bad acting or just that the character was written to be so annoying to everyone.

Is it just me or is the leading lady hope the worst actress ever? The leading guy is so hot that’s all the only reason I watch
