It’s unbelievable in it’s awfulness. Bad writing and the worst acting I’ve seen in a long, long time. |
Ugh I asked if this was the case in the other thread and people said no! |
Ha! My mom recommended it to me. I passed on it but was reconsidering since I’m out of shows. |
Eh, I thought it was alright. Not great, not terrible. It’s ok. |
Currently thinking the same thing about the first 15 minutes of You on Netflix. People were raving on another thread, but so far it looks like a poor man’s 50 Shades of Grey. |
I enjoyed it! Definitely not amazing but also not Lifetime movie bad. |
That was the point! I loved it!! |
It was Hart of Dixie but angsty and boring. Also, she's always saying she's a "midwife and NP" but literally midwives are often NPs and would never call themselves both. Also, why wouldn't a show about a midwife consult w midwife so that they don't make basic mistakes like that and get everything about labor wrong. Like, she stares between someone's legs and says "you're not in labor" which you can't tell staring at someone's vagina. (Can you tell I'm a midwife?) |
It’s perfect for the Hallmark channel. |
You didn't notice the internal exam? I mean, there wasn't a close-up of the proceedings -- it happened off camera -- but she was holding up a gloved hand in sterile technique mode. |
Ditto - felt like a bad rip off of Hart of Dixie which was trashy but still fun and cute. Plus...Wade and Levon...can't go wrong there! |
You need to appreciate it for what it is: mindless, pretty, not thought provoking, entertainment! It's great! |
+1 very, very pretty actors plus awful writing. Disappointed by the lead actress, who was so cute as Sophie on This is Us. |
I don't think anyone on the other thread said it was anything special, just that -- although cheesy -- it was better than a Hallmark movie. |
I went back and checked. You're pretty far off. There was no staring between the patient's legs, just the midwife answering (and shutting) back the door when the doctor interrupts what is clearly an exam. She has a gloved hand held up, and she snaps off the glove while she tidies up, talking to the patient. Maybe you were watching a different show? It's about 40:52-41:02 in episode 1. |
