The Morning Show-Apple TV

Or the writers don’t know how to do 10 episode mini series seasons. Not too many cop outs and they most likely want to tee up a Season 3 so looking forward to the finale to be total bonkers. I guess they have to decide how full on CoVID/ govt shutdown / election they want to go…

I was surprised to see that Alex tested positive to Covid. Her hospital stay should be interesting.

The description for the season finale is "TMS covers a growing crisis that turns personal for Alex and Bradley." My guess is that not only is Alex positive and becomes ill, but also Laura thanks to her. No way her heart condition was mentioned by accident. She either dies, or comes very close, throwing more fuel onto the fire of the fraught relationship between Alex and Bradley.

They should just start a new show. No continuity at this point forward.

I kind of agree. Go back and do second season not in covid land. I don’t really love the covid aspect written in.

What’d we think of the finale? I thought it was kind of weird. Don’t love re-living March 2020.

I didn't like it at all, especially compared to the prior two episodes which were excellent and more fast-paced. Just felt anticlimactic and unfinished even.

Hated it. Definitely not ready to dive back into life in the early pandemic. Also who in the world would want to watch an hour of her sitting at a desk talking? Alex being brought back to the network has never made any sense to me - at the beginning of the show, the whole thing was that she was on her way out because she wasn't connecting with audiences anymore. Why in the world would the network demand she come back, give her $25 million to do it, let her skip down for weeks at a time, give her ANOTHER show, put her on air for an hour to just chat about being sick (while fully made up and not looking very sick), and so on. They would obviously have been trying out other co-hosts, not her, right?! What is the logic for that?

Ugh. I hope next season is post-COVID. I don't hate the thought of her being a surprise late-night success - that could be fun. Alex unleashed.

Finale was awful. What was the point? They didn’t conclude anything. It wasn’t exciting or have a cliffhanger. Just a boring ending

WHY did they have Alex in a blazer at a desk to reveal and talk about COVID???? I totally understand she is vain and so hair and makeup of course are a must. But why not have her seated in a comfy chair in a pair of her designer jammies or loungewear. It was utterly insane to have her in a blazer at home with COVID and had this been real life, would have undermined her point to show that this is really impacting people.

That said, maybe the point was she was so vain she wouldn't let herself be vulnerable to not sitting behind a desk....but in that case, I'm not buying America just loved her. Even though it's fake as hell, if you look at Today Show hosts instas, it's a lot of "look at me being normal. look at me with no makeup. look at me recovering from surgery and not being glamorous." I'm not saying that is more real but it at least shows how people attempt to show a softer side of morning show stars.

I know that is a minor detail but I've enjoyed the show thus far and it bugged the hell out of me.

Agree. I enjoyed this season, but thought the finale was...bad.

The finale made no sense.

Second season was better than the first. But Jennifer A is such a one note actress. I feel like I am watching Rachel Green, 20 years after friends, after she decides she doesn't want to work in fashion after all...

I’m interested to see how the Corey/Bradley storyline plays out and also to see if Chips gets covid.

Took me awhile to NOT want to see Rachel since I am so used to watching Friends. She did an excellent acting job
