| Whoa, episode 8 is the best of the season by far. Excellent writing and acting, especially by Jennifer Aniston and Karen Pittman. |
I totally agree. This was actually an excellent hour of TV. It will be the Emmy submission for sure. |
Also agree. I thought this season had jumped the shark, but this one episode was fantastic! |
| I just finished episode 8, it was so good! But I also thought episode 7 was well done. |
And Mark Duplass |
+1 These three KILLED it in this ep. I need to rewatch, it was that good. |
Jen A has done strong character work with this role. So nice to see Karen P given a showcase to shine! |
| I loved Steve Carell’s ex wife’s reaction too when Alex Levy said “I only did it with him twice.” |
The writing was so sharp! |
| Another strong ep this week. The scene between Reese and Marcia Gay Harden was 🔥. The first half of the season was weak, shame it took them so long to get into a groove. I like the Jen A (quasi)redemption arc and how complex her character is. Mixed feelings about the effort to complicate cancel culture, but it is interesting. |
I really like the complicating cancel culture angle, because it is complicated. I really liked the episode in Season 1 when Steve Carrell realized just how horrible the cancelled director he wanted to work with was. |
| Donut mean to be picky, but the hair in some episodes, for all actresses, is really bad. You can clearly see the real hair and where the extensions start. They need another hair stylist. |
Yes, couldn’t put my finger in it but it’s almost a rush job to nowhere or everywhere. |
They started filming S2 before COVID, stopped and restarted. Probably influenced the show and rewriting episodes. |
That could definitely explain why the second half is so much tighter. |
