Yeah doubt he gets it. He will be a close call if he gets in. Expecting boost from ED. I am sure that is for ivy caliber kids that choose Emory. |
Your first sentence makes no sense. All top 25 schools are hard to get into. |
|
Yep, UVA is solid good quality. But not designer like HPY. Yet posters seems to think it’s every parents dream. For many parents it’s not even a thought. New parents might dream of HPY but most American parents do not have a baby and think UVA.

Sure. |

If money is not an issue, I wlll prefer to go to any of these universities over UVA.
They are not as big as UVA and your kid will not fall through the cracks. Tufts is an amazing school and in Boston. If your kid can get into any of them, including UVA, he/she will get a great education. |
Thanks for the sensible post. Money is an object though be use for two years we will have two in college and then two years with three. But we want to ED so we have a better shot at one of the privates. However, once we ED we are commmitted. |
One of my best friends kids went to Tufts and hated it. So she transferred. Guess to where? You got it. UVA. |
Too bad. |
| Excellent southern kid goes to southern school |
Probably wanted to join her entire high school class at UVA. It happens. Sounds like she wasted a good opportunity at Tufts. |
Agree |
| If I were in state, UVA. Out of state, any of the others. |
Yes, the close knit community, diversity, not enough frat parties, or sexual abuse at Tufts makes it hard for southern whites. Oh and lack of confederate flags. |
Her entire high school class except your kid, who didn’t get in. |
She was a Jewish girl from New Jersey |
